CSI and the Flying Unicorn Case File 177

Hi everyone! This month The Flying Unicorn creative team are guests at CSI, and I am back to share the final reveal from the CT for September!   

 

CSI is a weekly challenge designed to inspire scrapbookers to tell their stories and to create beautiful, meaningful pages based on a color scheme and an inspiration image.

 

CSI is all about inspiration and sharing and, most important, fun! I just love how they push me to journal on my layouts.....something I definitely need the push on!

 

 

This week is Case File 177 and this is what the Flying Unicorn CT has come up with for this FUN case file. We  hope you play along with us this month at CSI, there are lots of amazing prizes! Take care and Happy Scrapping!

 

Card and Tag Set - Creative Embellishments

Hi everyone! Today I am up on the Creative Embellishments Blog and I have a card and tag set to share. I love making these to add to gifts or to just give on their own with a nice note written in them. I used the new Lemon Craft Forget Me Not Collection from the Flying Unicorn to start.  

 

 

Both have a sentiment chippy from the Dream Word Set. These are perfect for projects like this or to use as titles on layouts!

 

 

I tucked in one of the Mini Pocket Watches on each.

 

 

The Keys chippys and Flourish chippys are all finished with a coat of gesso..and some Shimmerz mist to finish them off.

Today - Layout with Shona

Hi everyone! Today I am up on the Shimmerz Blog and I have a fun layout to share. I have added lots of pretty Shimmerz colors in the background to make the photo pop.

 

 

 

After adding my layers of papers and masking...the next step was to add some Spritz in Plum Pudding and Bed of Roses. I added a wee bit of water and heat set them.

 

All of the Creative Embellishments chippys are finished with a coat of gesso and Bamboo Leaf Spritz…I love the look!

My last touches are to add some drops of Inklingz in Beets Me and Brass Knuckles.

Smile - Creative Embellishments and the Flying Unicorn with CSI Case file 175

Hi everyone! Today I am up on the Creative Embellsihtments blog and I have a layout to share of my cutie pie grand daughter. This month the Flying Unicorn is sponsoring CSI and this is for CSI challenge 175. I have used a mixture of old Flying Unicorn kits with lots of Creative Embellishments chippys to complete the case file!

 

The first thing I did on the layout was my stamping…and I adore the Creative Embellishments Distressed Text Stamp. You can see it in my background here. I used lots of Shimmerz Inklingz to get the soft background colors from the case file! 

 

The NEW Mini Pocket Watches set is awesome…look at that adorable chippy!

 

 

My title is from the Happy Word Set. I am loving these word sets, they are perfect for cards and layouts! After my clusters were complete I tucked in pieces from the Flourish 10 Set. All of my chippys are finished with a coat of gesso and than I painted them with some Shimmerz Inklingz to add some shimmer!

Stand by Me - Build a Page with the Sept Flying Unicorn kits

Hi everyone! Shona here today with a quick Build a Page from the Flying Unicorn September Your Passion Your Art kits.

 

First thing I did was add some strips of torn paper on the top left and bottom right corner. After you apply those use an old credit card and swipe some gesso over the strips. The Gesso will add a nice base so that paints do not soak into the papers and the strips are just for added texture in the background. Grab the new mask in the kit and use some molding paste to add more texture. I added some of the Shimmerz Coloringz in the kit while it was still wet. Use your heat tool to set now.

Next I did some stamping all around the outside of the layout and in random areas on the page.

 

I used pieces from the Bo Bunny Noteworthy package to mat my photo. I also added some cardboard behind the photo to make it pop up on the layout some. Once you apply the photo add in more pieces from the Noteworthy package and from the sticker sheet in the kit.

 

 

Here you can see all the pieces I have added now. I tucked in a few of the Creative Embellishments chippys and flowers from the kits.

 

Add some Gesso touches to blend it all together.

 

My last touches were to add some drops of the Shimmerz Paint in the kit and drops of Shimmerz Inklingz.

Off the Page Candlestick Holder - Flying Unicorn and Shimmerz

Hi everyone! Today I have a fun Off the Page candlestick holder from my Flying Unicorn Sept kit. It was just wood to start and I added lots of texture and color with yummy Shimmerz!

 

To start I covered it with a coat of gesso and added some Finnabair crackle paste. After that dried over night it was time to add color!

 

 

 

First I added Don’t Be Suede Coloringz..and let that soak into the cracks as I heat set it. Next I added Well Blue Me Down Coloringz from the kit. I just adore this color combo and have used it many times. My finishing touches are drops of Brass Knuckles Inklingz. The lace is Flying Unicorn lace and one sprig of older flowers...I wanted to keep it simple.

Journal Cover - Creative Embellishments and the Sept Flying Unicorn kit

Hi everyone! A new monthly challenge revealed on the Creative Embellishments Blog today! The inspiration photo was perfect to finish my Journal from the Sept Your Passion Your Art kit from the Flying Unicorn and I used the new 7 Dots Lost and Found Collection available in the Flying Unicorn store now.  

 

 

 

I used the large clock face as the main piece for my journal. It was just the perfect size to highlight the journal cover

 

I tucked in lots of different sizes of Gear chippys to finish it all off.

 

All of the chippys are finished with black gesso.
