Play and Beautiful **Dusty Attic -The Flying Unicorn **

Hi everyone! Well another Monday and winter has hit us with a bang now! Calling for more snow all week…yuck! LOL! Right now at The FlyingUnicorn there are so many fun challenges going on and one of them is your Word for the year. I had to pick a word that I want more of this year, etc. Well I want to PLAY more, either scrapping play or family play…I just want more play in my life! So I made this canvas wall hanging for my room and I used this weeks palette and sketch from The Color Room because I want to PLAY along there too! hehe.

I started out with a white canvas, applied lots of gesso with masks and then just started to use some glimmer mists to get the colors I wanted. All of the chipboard pieces are from Dusty Attic, and I have embossed the middle piece and also the title letters before I painted and misted them.

I used some DA scrolls pieces in the corners which I have stamped, inked and misted. I then applied some Rock Candy crackle paint to them. I also added in some gauze and some twine along the side.

I used lots of different flowers from my stash and added some of my crinkle seam binding bows.

Another shot of all the yummy layers. I love this little wall hanging for my room J

My second project is a layout done for the Round Robin at The Flying Unicorn. I used the Vintage Blue Glitz collection and got inspiration from a photo challenge at Glitz. I chose the colors in the photo as my inspiration for this. I did lots of distressing, inking and fussy cutting. The photo is my grand daughter over the holidays.

I love the Dusty Attic butterflies and for this one I soaked it in water and then peeled the layers of chipboard before I painted it with some gesso and smooch paints. Here you can also see the fussy cut Glitz papers.

I added a little banner at the bottom of the layout, also inspired from the photo.

I added some Dusty Attic fern chippys to the flower clusters and some chippy scroll pieces in the corners.

A close up of all the layers and goodies.

Ok well that is it for today, I hope you all come and visit us at the Flying Unicorn…come join in on the fun and games. We are having a big online scrap party starting this Friday, the link is at the top of my blog on the right! Lots of goodies up for grabs this weekend, come and play!  Have a fantastic weekend!  Feel free to leave me some scrappy love comments, I love reading them ...take care and happy scrapping J

Joy of the Season **Dusty Attic -The Flying Unicorn **

Happy Sunday everyone! I finally got to meet my new little grandson yesterday and visit with the family…such a little cutie and his big brothers and big sister are so proud of him awwww. For my layout today I have used this weeks Mojo Monday Sketch at The Flying Unicorn…gorgeous sketch! I used lots of Pion papers which you can buy in the store at The Flying Unicorn and a few Dusty Attic pieces. The photo is one of my grandsons over the holidays, we went to visit some Lamas and he loved them!

I did a lot of fussy cutting with the Pion papers to create this. Here you can see some of that with the distressing and the gorgeous DustyAttic doily chippy. I first painted it and then added some glimmer mists and inks to it, then I added the title on top.

I used lots of layers and added some liquid pearls to the tags.

Here is the flowers cluster…yummy layers of goodies and the vine is a chippy from Dusty Attic. Love tucking those vines into flower clusters!

Ok well that is it for today, I hope you all come and visit us at the Flying Unicorn…come join in on the fun and games. I will be back tomorrow with my entry for the Round Robin challenge there.   Have a fantastic weekend!  Feel free to leave me some scrappy love comments, I love reading them ...take care and happy scrapping J

Darling **Dusty Attic **

Hi everyone and welcome!  I actually got lots of scrappy time this weekend and have a few projects done up. For this one I have used papers from Prima Printery collection and lots of goodies on here. I used a sketch from the Flying Unicorn to get me started. Lots of inking, distressing and layers of goodies and I used some of the new Prima canvas pieces as well. All you have to do is mist them and they are ready to go. The photo is my son and daughter in law in the summer…they just had the baby a few days ago and now they are a family of 6…wow lots of kids, they are going to be kept busy for sure hehe.

The doily is colored with glimmer mists and I tucked some gauze (yes I am still raiding my hubbys first aid kit) and also some Dusty Attic chicken wire under the title piece.

I did lots of distressing on the layers and for the DustyAttic fancy flourish I first painted it black, then I added some liquid pearls and stickles to it.

Here is some of the canvas that I misted. There is some lace and more Dusty Attic chicken wire and fancy trim under the photo.

More yummy Prima flowers and Dusty Attic goodies.

Ok well that is it for today, I will be back with more creations this week!   Have a fantastic week!  Feel free to leave me some scrappy love comments, I love reading them ...take care and happy scrapping J

I have news!!!!!!! I am so thrilled to be asked by DustyAttic to be their Guest Designer for the month of January! Internet scream!!!! LOL! Thank you everyone at Dusty Attic for being so awesome to me, you inspire me and I hope that I can also inspire in my journey with you. And thank you to all of you for so much inspiration along the way! You can see the announcement here! Ok so on with my layout…it was created using this weeks palette at The Color Room…..it is so pretty and I had so much fun with my last major inking project that I am doing it again. The photo is my daughter and grandson over the holidays, and I was inspired by Belinda at Dusty Attic and used naked chippys! First time for me..hehe!

I started with a piece of Tim Holtz Kraft Resist paper and some corrugated board. From there I just used lots of gesso, inks, stains and mists to create this background. I really like it! I then added in some PionDesign papers behind the photo and a couple of their cute little tags.

In this close up you can see the back ground good with the naked chippys. I tucked in some burlap and lots of Prima flowers.

I added a lil Prima bird house in the cluster on the bottom.

Look at all the yummy layers. I really like the colors on this I may have to frame it! If I know my daughter though…she will want it! awww and I will give it to her of course!

Ok well that is it for today, I will be back soon with more creations!  Have a fantastic weekend!  Feel free to leave me some scrappy love comments, I love reading them ...take care and happy scrapping J

Girly Grunge

Happy New Year everyone! Wow 2012 already and it is already a busy year. Holidays are winding down, the company is gone home and I am back to work now. I even got to scrap a bit yesterday I was going into withdrawals I think hehe! I am super excited today to share that I was chosen as featured member this month at the Donna Salazar Girly Grunge site..woo hoo! I made these two projects last month and just realised that I totally forgot to post them here. One is a canvas, my first altered canvas and the other is a card. I have used lots of Donna Salazar goodies on both of them.

First is the canvas. This was so much fun to make. For the background I used lots of gesso, the Prima brick mask and mists. This project is loaded with Dusty Attic chippys too. The title, the corner scrolls, leaves, the cogs, the key on the bottom flower section, and the wings behind the dress form.

Here is a close up of the cogs and the dress from. I dressed her up with real jean and some hand dyed silk on top.

Here is a close up of the title section. The top chippy is stamped and then I added some inks and crackle accents to it.

Love this flower cluster and I added in some tied up button, a DA key, some jewels and DA leaves.

For the card I used all DS papers and did lots of distressing. I tucked in some Dusty Attic chicken wire with the hand dyed crinkle seam binding and added some butterflies and bling to it. The quote is on a velum piece that I have distressed some.

Ok well that it is for today……I have a couple more announcements this month and I can share them with you soon!  I hope that 2012 brings nothing but joy to you all!  Have a fantastic week!  Feel free to leave me some scrappy love comments, I love reading them ...take care and happy scrapping J
