7 DOTS & The Flying Unicorn 2 Day Event!

We waited, and we waited, and yes we waited a little longer, but the day finally arrived. Our stalking of the 7 dots blog finally paid off- the sneak peeks of the newest hottest collections were being shown ... and the excitement in the scrap world hit all corners of the globe... A little more patience we would have to summon up until the papers landed on our doorsteps where we could hold it, smell it, hug it, knowing creativity with all of the collections was ours! If we thought they were exquisite on line than we were blown away when we were able to cuddle them !

Flying Unicorn was thrilled to embrace Cold Country in our April kit of the month but we could not stop there ...We needed a little more play time and it is with great honor and excitement that the Uni's hooked up with 7 dots for a two day showcase spread of their incredible Illumination Collection .

Canvas and Tag **Flying Unicorn and Shimmerz**

Hi everyone! Today I have 2 projects to share with you. A fun canvas and oversize tag.

I have used the Flying Unicorn April Kit of the Month for my canvas and added a few more goodies from the Flying Unicorn store! First I coved the canvas with the 7 Dots papers in the kit. Than the background on the canvas has been covered with Gesso I applied some Shimmerz in Royal Purple and Sea Foam Spritz. I have let both colors drip and run on the background and sides of the canvas.

 

 

Here are some close up of the background swirls of yummy Shimmerz colors. The Creative Embellishment chippys and Flying Uniocorn Adornment metal butterfly are all covered with Gesso and sprayed with some Sea Foam Spritz, I love to use my Shimmerz to co ordinate my project pieces. I love the flowers, rub ons and stamps in the kit…they all added to finishing my canvas.

 

 

Next I have an oversize tag to share. I have used the new Authentique Abroad Collection for this tag. To start I have used some packaging for the back of the tag, added some layers of torn paper strips from the collection, applied some gesso and sprayed some Sea Foam Spritz on it. Add a wee bit of water to the sprayed sections and twist and turn the tag to get the desired drips you like. I than used a Prima mask to create the black on the background with some fun Shimmerz Licorice Stick Dazzlerz. 

The cute Julie Netting doll stamp is all decked out in the collection papers and finished off with some yummy Petaloo flowers!

Happiness **DT Shimmerz**

Hello everyone, it is my turn up on the Shimmerz blog today! Yippee Spring has finally arrived in my part of the world…and that was one long Winter..YUCK! Today I have a layout to share that is bright and cheery and reminds me of Springtime. I have used 7 Dots Messy Head Collection and lots of Shimmerz products..you can find them all at the Flying Unicorn store!

The background is layers of the collection papers with some dabs of Shimmerz Pink and Pearlz Blue By U. I have dabbed some gesso on the areas with a wet wipe after the paint was dry to soften the colors more.

 

 

After I completed all my layers on the layout I tucked in some chippys that are finished with Vibez Before Dawn..the coverage is perfect on chippys. I then added some splats and drips with Shimmerz Pink and Magenta amd some Pearlz Blue By U. That is it…I love adding color to my creations with Shimmerz products.

Lovely Mojo Monday Sketch **CT Flying Unicorn**

Hi everyone and Happy Mojo Monday from the Flying Unicorn! It was my turn to use the gorgeous sketch..created by our very own Alda! I turned the sketch and used the New Prima Stationer’s Desk Collection from the Flying Unicorn store!

 
 

 

I just love the tags and chipboard pieces that come with this collection. The store also carries a big line of chippys from CreativeEmbellishments and they are just amazing! I used a Prima Doily mask with some Tidy Widy Texturez from Shimmerz, for the masking.

 

The lace is from Flying Unicorn and the mists and paints are all Shimmerz.

 

Fussy cut out a few flowers and add to the yummy Prima flowers!

Together **CT Flying Unicorn and OUAS**

Hi everyone! This month the Flying Unicorn is proud to be a special guest with Once Upon a Sketch. It is always so much fun to play with their sketches and challenges and anything that gives me that push to journal on my layouts is awesome! I always say I am going to do it but always seem to need that little push to get it done and OUAS is the perfect challenge for that! OUAS is ran by the talented Nadia, one of the Flying Unicorn CT members! The journaling theme this month is …”an event that changed your life” Now for me my kids are just so special to me. I am so so proud of what they have both grown up to be and I love them so much…they have definitely changed my life! I was so lucky as they were growing up. I think I could count on one hand how many times they had a battle..they were very few and very far between. They are very close in age and we live in a small town. They had many mutual friends and I think that helped them to form such a close relationship growing up.

 

 

I have used everything from the April Your Passion Your Art Flying Unicorn kit for this layout. The 7 Dots Cold Country collection is just so gorgeous and the colors are so yummy!

The lot comes with Shimmerz Paints and mists and I have used lots in the background and to cover this cute metal bird in the kit.

Heart & Soul April Palette #167

 

Hi everyone! I am excited for my first reveal for Heart & Soul. The April Palette #167 is such gorgeous colors and the fun twist of using some recyclable items this month is to use clothing tags! I decided to create two cards with the yummy Palette and I have used cut some black clothing tags to create the chevrons on them. I think I stole the tags off of hubby work jeans…he will never notice them gone hehe.

 

 

Lots of stamping, layers of embellishments and Shimmerz Dazzlerz, mists and paints to finish them all off.

April Your Art Your Passion OTP part 2

HI everyone! Today I have my Off the Page project from the April Your Passion Your Art Kit of the month from the Flying Unicorn. The kit comes with an OTP project every month and it always pushes my creativity a bit and they are so much fun! This months OTP is a chest of drawers and I have used some Prima Stationers Desk Collection to cover it.

 

Here is a close up of the top. I have used some chippys from Creative Embellishments, Prima flowers and butterfly, May Arts trims and Flying Unicorn metal adornments in the cluster.

 

I did some masking on the OTP with a Prima mask and Shimmerz Texturez.
