Love & Joy *SOUS*

TGIF! Wow it is Friday already…yippee!!  This week just flew by with all the hustle and bustle going on getting ready for the holidays! Today is reveal day atStuck on U Sketches and the gorgeous sketch is by our own fabulous Sandi. You will all love to use this one for some holiday layouts or like me just a celebration layout J I used papers from Creative Imaginations and love of goodies from my stash! The photo is my neice and her baby a couple of months ago. Eeek I am a Great Auntie LOL! Getting old L

Close up of the flower cluster…I added some dark violet colored flowers to match the cardstock that I used on the backing of the layout.

Here you can see all of the yummy layers on this layout….most of them are distressed. The title is a velum sheet that I have had in my stash forever.

I just love using Dusty Attic chippys on my projects and it is always my go to embellishment. You can make them match any color palette that you are using. I have used a DA fence here. First I painted it white, than I added some champagne glimmer glaze and some glimmer mists. I finished it off with some liquid pearls. The layers under it are punched with the MS Cherish punch.

Ok well that is it for now. Don’t forget to head on over to SOUS for tonnes of inspiration. Come play with us..it is fun to see everyones take on the sketches. Thanks again for stopping by and I hope that you have a fantastic weekend.  Feel free to leave me some scrappy love comments, I love reading them ...take care and happy scrapping J

Love You **TCR 87** **Scrap That!**

Happy Hump day everyone….well today was a bit of a BLOG nitemare actually but I think I got it all figured out now…<<<fingers crossed!  For some reason my background just went all wonky on my blog…eeek! Poor Vicky, it happened to her too! I picked a crow on my header because I LOVE THEM!!!!! I know most ppl hate them but to me they are so interesting and entertaining J  Ok so on with my layout…this was for this weeks palette at The Color Room and I also used this month sketch from ScrapThat! When I first saw the palette I thought …oh oh…and nothing came to mind for it! I had these OLD prima flowers, I think they may have been the first Prima ever made..yepp that old…but they were too bright…so hey why not spray paint them! And I did! Well that got me started and it all came together. I love this photo of my grandson..so innocent and so happy! I love the way this layout turned out and it is already in a frame and on my wall!

I used lots of layers, lots of distressing and added some gesso and then did some snowflake masking on top of it with glimmer mists. The chippys are all painted white first then I embossed them with my cuttlebug for texture. I then added some smooch paints and more glimmer mists to get the right colors. The snowflake is from my snowflake tutorial. You can find the link on my left side bar.

Here is a close up of the flower cluster, I added in a few more new Prima goodies with the old ones and tucked in a few snowflakes that I cut with my cricut. Love the cute lil ceramic pieces on the photo corners.

Ok well that is it for now. I just posted a challenge over at Scrap That! with this sketch! The prize is amazing, anyone can play!  I will be back tomorrow and Friday with more creations to share. Thanks again for stopping by and I hope that you have a fantastic week.  Feel free to leave me some scrappy love comments, I love reading them ...take care and happy scrapping J

Christmas is the Season of the Heart

Wow this weekend is going by way too fast! Before you know it …it will be 2012! I am now hearing holiday tunes on the radio and find myself humming them as I work around the house today..oh ….and I baked shortbread cookies today! Was funny…I had to mix them up by hand, get my hands right into the dough to mix it up. Needless to say my hands were covered in shortbread dough and the dogs were all looking at me, waiting patiently for the bowl to lick out after I was done with it…so I puts my hands down to their level and said…….cookie dough LOL! I had 2 dogs on each hand cleaning me up J They did a good job too! Ok enough puppy stories and on with my layout for today. I have used the Dec sketch over at Dusty Attic, did some machine stitching, distressing and used lots of DA chippys! The photo is my grandson last Christmas…too cute!

I did machine stitching behind the photo and used some stickles to accent it. Here is a close up of the Santa Sleigh chippy. First I painted it white and added some Donna Salazar glitter while the paint was still wet… and then I just inked the edges with some brown chalk ink. It really is sparkly.

The title pieces are also from DA and those are painted white and then I used some glimmer mists on them and added the sentiments and some liquid pearls. I love the new little heart piece from Prima and added just a couple of flowers and leaves to accent it.

This is my fav chippy on the layout and you will see this on another layout in a week or so also. I decided to make the potted plants look like they were snow covered and I used some molding paste on it for texture..after that was dry I added some stickles for glitter. For the snowflake I added some Diamond Dust and a gem in the center.

Here is a little tag I made for a challenge at ScrapThat! Come and play for your chance to win 13 prizes!

Ok well that is it for today.  I think I will go wrap a couple of gifts now.  Thanks again for stopping by and I hope that you have a fantastic week.  Feel free to leave me some scrappy love comments, I love reading them ...take care and happy scrapping J

Silly

Happy Saturday everyone! Well I am taking a lil break from holiday cards/tags and layouts for today..and getting caught up a bit on Halloween photos! My grandson was a lil froggy this year and he is just too cute! I did lots of masking, distressing, stamping, inking on this one. I used Petaloo flowers, MME papers and the webs and spiders are from Dusty Attic.

I have used this gate mask and twig stamps a few times…I like the looks of them together.

Close up of the flower cluster…there is also some masking and stamping under that.

The Dusty Attic spiders and webs were fun! I painted them and used some glimmer mists and glam on them. I added some stickles to the spiders. I also tucked in a piece of DA border by the envelope.

Ok well that is it for today.  I better get back to holiday cards/tags now LOL! Thanks again for stopping by and I hope that you have a fantastic weekend.  Feel free to leave me some scrappy love comments, I love reading them ...take care and happy scrapping J

Hi everyone and I hope you are having a great weekend! I decorated my house yesterday, pretty much finished my Christmas shopping today (the dogs bought me some really beautiful new slippers, hehe)….and now I just have to tackle wrapping them..not a favourite of mine. The first 2 gifts always get wrapped so gorgeous, bows and ribbons and then I get sick of it and they all start to look like a 2 year old wrapped them  hehe…actually they might do a better job of it!!!! LOL! Ok so on with my layout, I made this one using this weeks palette at The Color Room. I had a lot of problems with this weeks palette..but I do like the way this turned out in the end. I used just plain beige card stock and made my own back ground. I also made all of the flowers. The white ones I used my cricut to make them and the blue one is from some hand dyed silk and a glubber. LOVE GLUBBERS! If you have not seen them, google UTube for them, they are amazing for making fabric blooms. The photo is my grandson playing in some leaves and having a great time doing it.

I did lots of masking and inking on the background. Here is a close up of one of my flowers. I tucked some gauze and goodies in behind it.

Another close up of my flowers and leaves. In the background you can see the fence mask and I did some stamping on top of it. I used some Donna Salazar papers for the flowers and also on a background layer.

I love these Dusty Attic trees and finally got to use one. I did lots of misting and added some glimmer glam, glaze and stickles to it. The background here is a Prima mask and glimmer mists.

Ok well that is it for today.  Thanks again for stopping by and I hope that you have a fantastic weekend.  Feel free to leave me some scrappy love comments, I love reading them ...take care and happy scrapping J

Special Moments **SOUS**

Hello everyone and welcome. WOOT WOOT…TGIF!!!!!! And a long weekend too for me!  I took a couple of vacation days to hopefully start to decorate for the holidays. I got a smidgy done today, I hope more tomorrow J  Ok so on with my layout for today! It is reveal day at Stuck on U Sketches and here is my layout and the sketch that I got to work with…it is by Page Maps. The photo is my son and family and if you look closely at my daughter in law, this family is about to get bigger. We are expecting a New Years Baby J weeeeeeeeeeee!!!! That is what the journaling is about on this page….the day they announced to a lot of the family that they were expecting. I used lots of Prima goodies from my Scrap That! Romantique kit, did some masking, sewing and the large flower is handmade form hand dyed silk.

I used a piece of Dusty Attic that is first painted then I used some glimmer mists on it and added some gems to finish it off. You can see all the distressing and water distressing that I have done in the corner. TIP: to water distress, just mist the paper..fold it how you like…then I dry it with a heat tool and ink it.

In the top corner you can see the machine stitching and the masking that I did. Masking is one of my favs on a layout..it just adds to the layers.

I used to make hand dyed silk scarves and I have lots of material left so now I make flowers for my layouts. They are just gorgeous I think! I have added some other blooms, a crystal swirl and a hand punched butterfly to it.

Ok well that is it for today. Don’t forget to head on over to SOUS for tonnes of inspiration. I just love how every take on one sketch is so different. Thanks again for stopping by and I hope that you have a fantastic weekend.  Feel free to leave me some scrappy love comments, I love reading them ...take care and happy scrapping J

SHABBY SNOWFLAKE FLOWERS

Hi everyone…this is a super easy flower to make for holiday projects

Supplies:
Chipboard snowflakes
White Acrylic Paint (I love the dabber it is so easy to use)
Gems
Snowflakes cut from white cardstock
Brown Chalk Ink
Stickles
Glimmer Mist

 Step One:
Paint your chipboard piece and set aside to dry.

Step Two:
I cut my snowflakes with my cricut to start... in a few different sizes. Now I ink around the edges of all the snowflakes.

Step Three:
Ink around the chippy snowflake and add a gem to the center of it. I have bent up and crinkled the snowflakes before putting them together. This will add some dimension to them.

Step Four:
Layer your snowflakes and glue them together.

Step Five
To finish off the snowflakes I have added some stickles to them, some clear and some gold, and then I spayed them with some light colored glimmer mist to make them shimmer.

That is it, so easy and fast. These are very vintage looking on holiday heritage layouts. Here is a little peek of an upcoming project with one on it.
