Flying Unicorn April Kit “A Touch of Spring” Part 1

Hi everyone! Today is reveal day for the Flying Unicorn April Kit “A Touch of Spring” and I am going to show you a couple of the creations that I have made with it. I LOVE this kit. It is just loaded with so many amazing goodies!

My first layout is titled Enjoy the simple things and is my grand daughter. I have used the Glitz papers in the kit and have done lots of distressing, and gesso work.

The next few layouts are done with a sketch that I made…and believe me it is the big joke over at the Flying Unicorn for a while now LOL!. I TRIED to make a sketch in draw on the computer and I have no clue what to do, BUT I promised Alda I would do the life of a sketch theme with some layouts from my kit. I actually made 4 layouts with it. Take a look at this masterpiece J hehe…it is like a kids drawing and the writing is even worse! LOL!
Here is the Sketch that the sweetie Tammy from the CT made using mine as a base for it. I think she felt bad for me LOL!

The first one with the sketch is called Adventure and I have used the Fabscraps and Glitz papers in the kit. The photo is my grandson playing in the leaves. Lots of distressing a bit of masking and I have used my cricut to cut lots of shapes for this one. Love the yummy Dusty Attic vine up the side.

This layout is also using that yummy sketch hehe. Delight in the Beauty that Surrounds You is a photo of my daughter and features some of the Fabscraps and Megs Garden papers in the kit. NO distressing eeeeek LOL! I have also added in the Dusty Attic cherry blossom vine and the title is also on a DA chippy. I made a couple of the purple flowers with a punch I have and added a tiny flower to the center.

Ok and here is my last one for this post featuring the Glitz papers and some yummy Dusty Attic.  The Birthday Boy is my grandson he just turned two. Also using that sketch LOL!

I made the flowers using my Tim Holtz diecut and added some buttons from the kit and some twine bows.

Love the cute little hearts I made using the kit papers and between the layers I have added some lace to give it dimension. Ink the edges, add a flower and a twine bow. I used some gesso on the circle and some machine stitching in the corner.

I used a tutorial from Ingrid Gooyer at Dusty Attic for the chippy. You just add some beads to gesso and blob it on the chippy. I then added some mists. Looks cool huh!

Ok well that is it for today. Hurry on over to the store to grab your kit before they are all gone. I will be back with Part 2 Kit Reveal in a couple of days.   Have a great week! Feel free to leave me some scrappy love comments, I love reading them ...take care and happy scrapping J

Round Robin and TCR *Flying Unicorn*

Hi everyone! Well it is reveal day for the Round Robin Challenge at the Flying Unicorn and I am first up on my team. The theme this month is April Showers bring May Flowers and I have used the Songbird Collection from Prima, flowers and Dusty Attic chippys, all from the Flying Unicorn store. The photo is my daughter in law last year when she was preggos hehe.

I did lots of distressing and a bit of masking and inking. I love the tags and chipboard pieces that some with the songbird collection.

I used some liquid pearls here and there to finish it off and tucked in some DA chippys.

I also have a layout that I have created using this weeks palette and sketch from the Color Room. I have never done a round layout before but Tammy’s challenge inspired me to try one, and I love it! Was so much fun to make. I have used lots of new Prima papers and goodies, and a few Dusty Attic pieces.

I fussy cut all the little banner pieces and some of the sunflowers from the Prima papers.
I also added some stamping, tucked in some gauze, liquid pearls and of course had to ink everything.

Ok well that is it for today. I will be back tomorrow with the KIT reveal from Flying Unicorn. Well part one of it anyways, this kit is so big I have made too many projects for one posting LOL!  Stop on by the forums for some fun challenges, but put on your steel toe boots and hart hat...it can get pretty rough there with all the hip checking going on ! Have a great week! Feel free to leave me some scrappy love comments, I love reading them ...take care and happy scrapping J

I have used papers from the Feb kit and did lots of fussy cutting for the main parts of this hanger. Almost everything is from the FlyingUnicorn store.

1. If you were a crayon, what color would you be? Why?
Well I would be white, because you can add other colors to white to get the one you want.

2. What would people be surprised to learn about you?
Lets see…I love to take photos of my family but have very few of me. Always behind the camera. I am a wee bit shy until I know you than I am a bit of a comedian.

3. What 5 things are always on your crafting table?
Everything is on my table but if I were to clean it off I would leave on ink, distress tools, glue, cutting mat, scissors. LOL!

4. Your go-to embellishment is ...
            Chippys and Pretty flowers!!!

5. What is your all-time favorite crafting tool?
            Definitely my distress tools.

6. Tell us about your family .. first in one word. Then in a sentence or two.
Blessed! I have 3 kids and a great hubby. Five grand kids with another on the way. I love spending as much time as I can with my family. Oh yes and 4 Jack Russel dogsJ

7. What is your dream vacation?
I don’t know but I have thought about this. I think somewhere hot in the winter because where I live the winters can be pretty brutal. I would like to be a snowbird and fly south for the winters LOL!

8. Who is your favorite crafty company?
            Fabscraps and Dusty Attic!  hehe

9. Tell us a bit about your crafty style.
My style is shabby chic, I love to distress and ink. Masking is one of my favs as well. I do like to do the odd girly grunge project and always love to learn new techniques. OH and I always load up a layout, Sandi always teases me and says she has to search for the sketch in my layout…but it is there really! LOL!

10. Where do you live?
I live in beautiful British Columbia Canada. I am surrounded by huge mountains as I live close to the Rockies. Even on the hottest day in the summer you can see the Glaciers in the distance.

Live, Love, Journal*CT Flying Unicorn*

Hi everyone! Well I got two big boxes of goodies yesterday, one loaded with new Prima from the Flying Unicorn store and the other loaded with goodies from Fabscraps. YUMMY! Anyways, I could not wait to play with some of it and wanted to create something using this weeks palette from The Color Room and the March BAP Sketch from Prima. I was featured at TCR for my layout last week…FUN! Ok so on with my layout for today….using Prima Natures Garden. Lots of layers, inking, distressing and yummy Prima goodies, all from the Flying Unicorn store. The photo is my son and grand daughter. Couple of cutie pies hehe!

I love all the tags and chipboard pieces that come with this collection. It sure pulls a layout together.

I added some liquid pearls to the little banners under the photo.

Of course I had to use some Dusty Attic someone, it is a border scroll tucked in on each side of the photo.

Ok well that is it for today. Thanks again for stopping by and I hope that you have a fantastic weekend.  Feel free to leave me some scrappy love comments, I love reading them ...take care and happy scrapping J
