Happy Mojo Monday from the Flying Unicorn!

Hi everyone! Well I do now know what season you are all in but it is getting chilly here in Canada and Fall is in full force. I love all the changes in the leaves and the colors…simply gorgeous! Today I have a layout to share with you featuring a gorgeous Mojo Monday Sketch created by Alda and the Flying Unicorn. The papers and some embellishments are from Prima Epiphany collection. I have been hoarding this amazing photo of my grand daughter…she is such a beauty! 

 

 

The flowers are from Petlaoo and trims are from May Arts. I left the Creative Embellishment chippys naked on this layout.

The lace is from the Flying Unicorn and I finished my layout with droplets of Shimmerz Iklinkgz.

Today - OUAS and the Flying Unicorn and Shimmerz

Hi everyone and  Happy Friday to you all. The Flying Unicorn CT are guests this month at Once Upon a Sketch Challenge site. They are an amazing site with so much inspiration to help you with your creating! I created my layout with the gorgeous Flying Unicorn October kit of the month. I am also up on the Shimmerz blog today with this layout.

Journalling Theme: "The women/girls etc in our lives..."

 

I decided to do a layout of me, my daughter and her mother in law. We were all having a toast to being together...I adore my daughter and enjoy every minute that I get to spend with her.

 

Here are some close ups. The main paper is from Fabscraps and is in the kit.

 

 

I used Petaloo flowers from the Flying Unicorn store and lots of yummy Shimmerz products in the background.

Love - Creative Embellishments

Hi everyone! Shona here today with a mixed media layout featuring lots of Creative Embellishments chippys and stamps! By now you must all know how I love to use my chippys naked some of the time! I just love the natural look of them! The papers are from Prima and the flowers from Petaloo. I added lots of yummy Shimmerz products and these are all available in the Flying Unicorn store!

In this close up you can see hints of the DistressedCheckered Stamp in the background. I also used the Distressed Chevron Stamp here and there. The title is one piece from the Social Hash Tags set.

 I just LOVE the Heart Frame set and chose it to feature my photo. I think the naked chippys draws focus to that gorgeous photo of my daughter and grandson!

Buid a Page with the Flying Unicorn October Kit of the Month

Hi everyone…I am up this month with the BAP from the gorgeous October Your Art Your Passion kits. This is my creative process for this layout of two of my cutie pie grandsons when they visited in September!

 

I started with 2 pieces of the Fabscraps papers in the main kit. Cut out the center of the bottom sheet because you do not see that anyways and I wanted to use it on top. Trim the other sheet down to 11 x 11 and save those strips.

 

I used a couple of punches around the edges on these pieces. I do not punch perfectly I like to overlap my punched areas to give it a distressed look.

 

Adhere the top sheet to the bottom now and add the other pieces along the top left and some smaller pieces on the bottom right. Add those 1 inch strips now too!

 

The Mixed Passion kit comes with this amazing box of samplers from Golden! LOVE! I added some of the Regular Gel medium over the two areas that I added paper too. Why? Because when I add some mists and paints later on they will not absorb into the papers and will create these nice splats instead. The gel dries clear.

 

I love the stamp in this months kit…I added some stamping to the background after the Golden Gel dried..you can  use a heat tool to quicken this process.

 

I also used other stamps from the Flying Unicorn store and other kits.

 

How gorgeous is that mask in this months kit! LOVE IT! I used some of the Golden Light Molding paste in the sampler box and did my masking. I also used a 13 ARTS mask from a previous kit.

 

Cut some cardboard from a box to add behind the photo. I like to distress my photos a bit with the Prima Multi Purpose tool first. If you are ever looking for an amazing glue that actually sticks and holds everything in place…….3 in 1 is perfect and you can get it at the Flying Unicorn store.

 

Add you photo to the layout now.

 

Pick out your goodies to use to embellish your creation…look at all these fun pieces from the kit!

 

After adding all the embellishments..cover up that photo and use some of the Shimmerz Mist and Paint in the kits to add little flicks and splats to finish off your creation!

Me and Olaf..Mixed Media Layout featuring Flying Unicorn and Shimmerz

Hi everyone..TGIF!!! ..Today I have a layout to share of me and my new puppy Olaf…he is so funny and cute and sits there while I scrap away and picks and chews at what ever I drop on the floor. I have used my Flying Unicorn Oct kit and lots of Shimmerz products to create the background. I did some masking with the yummy mask in the kit and added some Shimmerz Pop Art Pink Vibez and let it drip.

The title letters are finished with a shot of Hot Fudge Vibez…I love all the Shimmer on them! AND look at all of the amazing embellishments in the kit!

After the layout was complete I added some drops of Pink a Boo Inklingz, Pink Shimmerz and Coffee Shimmerz.

Flying Unicorn October Your Passion Your Art KOM part 2

I am back today with a mask that I created with the Flying Unicorn October kit of the month! I was a just a black face mask to start and I had so much fun decorating it!

 

 

First I used some Shimmerz Dazzlers for the pink masking on the top of the mask. The kit came with some feathers so I added them next to the two sides and added in flowers and Creative Embellishments chippys for decoration! Gorgeous Flying Unicorn Lace and Metal Adornments to finish off it all off.

 

This project was so much fun and really will make a fabulous decoration for Halloween too!

October Challenge Creative Embellishments

Hi everyone! A new monthly challenge revealed on the Creative Embellishments Blog today! The inspiration photo is just so much fun this month and the twist is Distress!

I created a fun Halloween card!  In the background I have used the yummy Chevron Distressed stamp. I just adore the CE stamps! I was inspired by the pumpkins and did a Halloween theme! I used a few pieces from the Halloween Scene 2 set of chippys! The pumpkin chippys are finished with some Shimmerz Dazzlerz and the bats and tombstone are finished with some Shimmerz Before Dawn Vibez mist. I added touches of gesso after they were applied to the card.
