Journal Pages with Shimmerz and Creative Embellishments.

Hi everyone! Today I am up on the Shimmerz and Creative Embellishments Blogs with  journal pages and the theme is…bits and pieces. I always cut up chippys and have these bits and pieces left over and what better way to use them than in a cluster on journal pages and many projects. They add so much texture and character these bits and pieces….so keep them and use them up! The background stamping is done with CE Distressed Checkered Stamp and my newest stamp the Distressed Text Stamp.

 

 

Here are all of the yummy Shimmerz products used. What better way to add some fun color to your projects!

 

I have tucked in chippy pieces of from the Ivy Wreath and FlourishSet 10. I used Shimmerz Coloringz in the background and my finger to add dabs of Dazzlerz to the masking.

 

 

 

Here you can see a little piece of a Pussy Willow chippy poking out the top and drops of Shimmerz Inklingz to finish it all off.

 

 

 

One last close up. I used Licorice Stick Dazzlerz to finish off the title chippy.

Summer Fun Layout - Creative Embellishments

Hi everyone! I am missing summer here in Canada and decided to create a fun summer layout! Hopefully Spring arrives early here! The cutie pie is my grandson playing in the dirt with trucks…what more fun is there for a little boy than dirt and trucks!

 

 

I have cut the Flourish 4 into two pieces and added to two sections of the layout. I have only added touches of gesso to the chippys.

 

 

Among the layers behind the photo is a piece from the Handsome Frame Set…with the work COOL on it. Perfect for a little boy!

Remember - Flying Unicorn Feb Kit

Hi everyone! I am back with another share from the February kit from the Flying Unicorn…so jam packed with goodies I am still creating with it!

 

I love all the cute embellishments with the kits…look at that cook resin butterfly too! And the kit has lots of different Shimmerz products to play with!

 

One last close up, you can see some of the masking from the lovely mask in the kit.

NEW Tonez Sets from Shimmerz

Hi everyone! Have you seen all the NEW Shimmerz products in the Flying Unicorn store! Shimmerz has come out with not only new colors and new products but NEW Tonez Sets! TONEZ are unique sets that were assembled to create layered effects on your craft projects. The layering involves both shimmer and color. The products include both sprays and watercolors. There are a few Tonez sets to choose from and today I have a canvas I created with the yummy Mono Tonez collection.

 

 

First I did some masking on the canvas and after that was dry I added some Taupe of the Morning Vibez to the background.

The embellishments are colored with Taupe of the World Vibez…as you can see this is darker than the background.

I finished the Flying Unicorn metal adornments with the NEW Thunder Storm Creameez and No One’s Chrome Inklingz. Just add a wee bit of water to the pods, stir it up and paint it on..easy and fun!

The large flower and twine are also sprayed with some of the Taupe of the Morning Vibez and the Creative Embellishments title chippy is finished with the darker Taupe of the World Vibez.

Explore - Creative Embellishments and Scrap Around the World

Hi everyone! Today I have a layout to share that I created for Creative Embellishments. They are featured this month at Scrap Around theWorld challenge site! I love this challenge site and they always have such gorgeous mood boards to play with! Here is my layout and I was inspired by the earthy tones, the outdoorsy feeling of the mood board. I picked this fun photo of my husbands and 2 grandsons enjoying some outdoor fun!

 

 

I have added in pieces of the Moroccan Lattice Panel here and there with the 7 Dots papers and Petaloo flowers from the Flying Unicornstore. The background is finished with lots of Shimmerz and masking.

 

I just LOVE the new word sets from CE. The title is from the Adventure Word Set.

Card and Tag set - Flying Unicorn

Hi everyone! Today I have a card and tag set created with the Flying Unicorn Feb Your Passion Your Art kit. I like to keep a stash of cards and tags on hand for those last minute gifts etc. I loved all the little fussy cut pieces in this kit.

 

I tucked in a couple of Creative Embellishments chippy pieces and finished it off with some Shimmerz Inklingz.

I used some masks from previous kits in the background.

Canvas Fun - Shimmerz, Creative Embellishments and the Flying Unicorn

Hi everyone! Today I am up on the Shimmerz and Creative Embellishments Blogs and I have a set of canvas's to share. I made them for my daughter for a house warming gift and it has special meaning to it…the old spoons are from my late mom. This canvas and lots of the embellishments came in my Flying Unicorn Feb kit. I used some crackle paste first and added all the embellishments. After that the fun begins.

 

The background is covered in many vintage pieces and some metals and resins from my Flying Unicorn Feb kit. I have added in Creative Embellishments Gears in both sizes through out the canvas.

 

I have used pieces from the Retro Square Panel in the background…I just love this panel it is so much fun!

 

Here you can see more of the Gears and the title pieces on both canvases’ are from the Dream Word Set! All of the chippys and canvas are finished with an assortment of Shimmerz products.

Here is the second canvas. I love the way the Shimmerz Tuscan Sun, Chick a dee, Terra Cotta and Bamboo Leaf Spritz’s just seeped into all the cracks. That is my background. I heat set between colors. I love the antique door handle I added to the top.

For finishing touches I have added some of the NEW gorgeous Creameez in Great Fruit and Get Glowing to some of the Flying Unicorn metal embellishments. The new Shimmerz Creameez is darker colors than Inkligz and are much creamier when water is added to activate them. I also added touches of Inkligz in Im Not Limon and Sun Kissed with little splats of Brass Knuckles in the end.

And lastly here is a photo of the set. I hope my daughter enjoys them and they add some fun and color to her kitchen.

Flying Unicorn February Your Passion Your Art Off the Page Project

Hi everyone! I am back with my Off the Page project from the Flying Unicorn Feb Your Passion Your Art. Each month the main kit has a fun OTP item to alter and this months is a wooden tea pot holder. You can put art supplies in it or tea bags etc. I have filled mine with some vintage crinkle seam binding.

 

 

The paper is old and from my stash. I did some masking and added some Shimmerz mists to the masking. The flowers are from Petaloo and I added in some May Arts trims and the title is a Creative Embellishments chippy.

 

 

Filled with trims ready to use on my next projects!
