Timeless LOVE **Scrapthat and Dusty Attic**

Wow Sunday already…where do the weekends go? I think I need 5 days off a week and work 2 hehe J For this layout I used the February sketch from Dusty Attic, and I used my Feb. Scrapthat kit, “Love Notes”. The photo is my niece’s baby last weekend. What a little cutie pie.
I made my own flowers for this layout, the larger pink one is from hand painted silk (I used to make scarves…so I hacked one up), and the green ones are from cardstock with added inks and gems. The birdcage is from a stamp and I just cut it out and used pop ups on the layout. The cute little envelope came with the kit. I just inked it and added some liquid pearls and a stamp. I used a MS punch for the border strip and added some lace to it. The doily is inked with Distress inks.
You can see the punched area in this close up. The butterflies I cut out and added some stickles to them. The Dusty attic chippy, I first painted with black acrylic and then added some crackle to it. After that dried I added some stickles and gems.
I did regular distressing on the outer edges and water distressing with inking on the inner layer. There is a Tim Holtz acrylic fragment under the title.

Well thank you so much for stopping in for a peek. I have a few more layouts planned for the next couple of weeks for Swirlydoos, Dusty Attic, Scrapthat and the Color Room. I hope that you all have a fantastic Sunday and Happy Valentines Day tomorrow, be safe and stay warm. Feel free to leave me some scrappy love comments, I love reading them ...take care and happy scrapping J

love **Scrapthat Sketch**

I have been a member of Scrapthat for a few months now. The designers are all so talented and full of inspiration. I have followed all of their blogs for some time now. This months kit “Love Notes” is no exception. The design team all made gorgeous layouts with the kit.  There is a giveaway on the Scrapthat blog right now, so go visit it for your chance to win a kit.  I am featuring one layout that is based on my layout today. It was made by Vicky Alberto. Her style is so gorgeous and full of inspiration. You can see her blog here. Both of our layouts are based on the “Love Notes” sketch by LG Belarmino. Here is Vicky's below.

My layout is called “love” and the photo is my daughter and her new son. What a sweet photo, so full of love. I used my February kit and this months sketch. I did a lot of stitching on this layout and distressing.
The flowers all came with the kit and the little bird cage is a stamp that came with the kit. I just stamped some cardstock and cut it out. I added some pearls to the smaller flowers.
In this close up you can see all the stitching that I did on the layers, after I distressed them. I curled up the edges on the layers for some dimension.
The love title and vine is from Dusty Attic. I first painted the chippys, then I inked with a rose and olive color. I then added some clear stickles for some shine. I really love the way the vines turned out.
I used a MS punch to make the circle and you can see another close up of the stitching and vines here.
Well thank you so much for stopping in for a peek. Don’t forget to go visit Vickys blog and Scrapthats blog. Be ready to be inspired. . I hope that you all have a fantastic weekend, be safe and stay warm. Feel free to leave me some scrappy love comments, I love reading them ...take care and happy scrapping J

Conner **Scrapthat**

Hi and welcome to my blog. This layout was done for a masculine challenge; I used my “Love Notes” February kit from Scrapthat. The photo is my grandson last year at the Salmon River Run, you can see dead fishies in the photo, hehe. Million of salmon all dying..boy did it stink there YUCK! The kids loved it though. I distressed and inked all the layers on this layout. The challenge was so hard for me, no flowers, no butterflies, no bling, it almost killed me I tell ya!
I used a G45 cardstock on the bottom and totally sanded and distressed it. The top layers of paper are water distressed and inked. TIP: if you ink the edges on water distressed areas you can really see the creases of the distressing so much better. I love the banner that I made with everything from the kit. I added some little gems with bugs in them on the corners of the banner.
In this close up you can see a card from the kit that I used and I did some stamping on this layout. The grunged up cardboard is actually torn off of the box that my kit came in. I misted it, and added some white acrylic paint and brown ink.
The clock is cut out from the G45 paper. The Dusty Attic chippy, well I first painted it then I added some crackle paint to it and then I used some stickles and inks on it.
Well that was my masculine layout…super fun challenge, but now I am going in my room to make some pretty flowers, hehe. Thank you so much for stopping in for a peek. I hope that you all have a fantastic week, be safe and stay warm. Feel free to leave me some scrappy love comments, I love reading them ...take care and happy scrapping J

Aloha and Memories and all that stuff.

Hi and welcome to my blog. I was so excited yesterday to open up my “Love Notes” February kit from Scrapthat. It is a gorgeous kit full of patterned papers from Glitz Designs Love Nest Collection and gorgeous embellishments to go with it. I could not wait to get started on a layout for the watermark challenge at Scrapthat.  This photo of my niece and her baby was taken last weekend when I was at a Hawaiian themed party. The baby was so cute all decked out. I distressed and inked all the layers on this layout.
In this close up you can see the cute Prima flowers that came with the kit. I added a pearl to the center of each one. I used a MS punch and added some pearls to the flowers on that. The velvet ribbon and title letters came with the kit. The chippy in the corner is where I used the watermark ink. I stamped letters on the chippy and then added some embossing powders and heated them to dry. I then inked the chippy and the watermark stamping acts as a resist and you can see the stamped images under the inking. I added a few pearls to the chippy to complete it.
In the other corner you can see a close up of some stamping that I did. I added a Prima flower and some pearls. The butterfly I cut out and added some gems and distress stickles to it. I added a row of pearls above the photo for a little soft touch. You can really see all the distressing and inking in this close up.
The flower cluster consists of kit flowers and my own handmade flowers. I made the peach, green and hand painted silk flowers. I also used the watermark ink to make the pearl swirl, there is one under the fan as well but I kinda messed that one up, so I made a fan with some of the other papers in the kit and covered up the boo boo.

My second layout is done with the Feb kit “Things Remembered”, from Swirlydoos. I had so much fun with this layout, one of my all time favourite photos of my daughter. I distressed and inked all the layers.
I added one hand painted silk flower that I made, and tucked some peach flowers that came with the kit around it. I cut up a Prima say it with pearls and added it all around the flower cluster. You can see the G45 cardstock that is behind the photo. I distressed and inked the layers here and the inking totally changed the G45 cardstock.
I added a rub on and some lace on the other side of the photo. The Dusty Attic chippy I inked a couple of colors and added some ZVA crystals to it.
I the top left corner under the flower I added another piece of the G45 cardstock and a title rub on under it. The masking was fun to do again and I added some liquid pearls to it.
I love both of these layouts. The inking seems to make all the papers look so much richer. I think I am going to go experiment with more inking and masking. Thank you so much for stopping in for a peek. I hope that you all have a fantastic week, be safe and stay warm. Timeless **Swirlydoos**

Well Hello and happy Tuesday everyone! I actually got 2 layouts and an Arch done yesterday when I was home from work. I will post the other layout in a couple of days.
This layout is from the Feb kit "Things Remembered", from Swirlydoos. I used the sketch that came with the kit for this one. The bottom paper is from G45 and I sanding it to give it a very cool look.
I distressed all of the layers in this layout. You can see the sanded and distressing in this close up. I inked the doily and tucked it under the photo. The black swirls I cut out with my cricut. I made the brown flowers and added pearls to the smaller flowers, which came with the kit.
In this photo you can see some of the stamping that I did behind the embellishments and the hand painted silk flower that I made and tucked in behind the photo mat. I water distressed the two layers of paper behind the photo and used some ink on them to really bring out the creased areas.
I tucked a piece of the inked doily in the top corner and added a flower there. The Dusty Attic key I tried to alter it to make it look rusty. The title piece is from embellishments that came with the kit.
The butterfly I cut out and added some stickles and gems to it, and the DA music notes I inked and added some crackle paint to it.
I also did an Arch for a challenge. I used goodies from the kit for it too and a few from my stash. I will probably add this arch to a layout in the future.

I picked up the mail on my way home from work today and my Scrapthat Kit is there...yippeee more goodies. Thank you so much for stopping in for a peek. I hope that you all have a fantastic week, be safe and stay warm. Feel free to leave me some scrappy love comments, I love reading them ...take care and happy scrapping J

Family **Swirlydoos**

I am home sick from work today so I am pampering myself and pretty much not allowing myself to do house work. So I have been scrapping with my new Feb kit "Things Remembered", from Swirlydoos. This kit is stunning with the beautiful pattern papers from TPC Studio and coordinating embellishment. I made my first layout for the Butterfly Challenge. The photo is my sister in law and niece when we were at a Hawaiian party last weekend.
I have been fooling around with Arches, and this is a close up of the one I made. The background paper is resist paper that I made myself. If you want to try that, just apply white acrylic paint to a stamp and stamp the image on the paper. Let it completely dry then ink the paper. The stamped images will stay a lighter color. I added some liquid pearls, flowers, lace and gems to the Arch.
I distressed the layers of paper and the doily is inked with Distress inks. I added some liquid pearl dabs to the doily. I printed out the butterflies, cut them out and added stickle and ZVA gems to them. The title with gems is a rub on that came in the kit. The Dusty Attic scroll was fun to alter. I painted it white, added some stickles to it and then when it was dry I added some crackle paint to it and finished it off with some gems.
In this close up you can see one of the flowers that I made and the image that I stamped. I applied liquid pearls to the stamped image.
I used some MA punches and added some lace under the photo box. I made the flowers myself. The peach ones are on a tutorial at Swirlydoos and the silk peach one is an idea that I just did. I added some gems to the center of the silk flower. The silk material is hand painted before the flower was made. I used to make hand painted silk scarves and this is some material that I have left over.
Don’t forget to hop on over to Swirlydoos blog for a chance to win some new CHA goodies. Thank you so much for stopping in for a peek. I hope that you all have a fantastic week, be safe and stay warm. Feel free to leave me some scrappy love comments, I love reading them ...take care and happy scrapping J

Where I Live **TCR#44**

Wow it is Sunday already, where did this weekend go. I went to the 25th anniversary party last night and the altered box and layout in the shadow box frame gifts were a hit J  They loved them both. I love making gifts and I really put my heart into them. Todays layout is for The Color Room #44 palette. I did find the colors challenging this week, no blacks or browns were allowed. I used the sketch that went with this palette. The photo is taken from the golf course that is close to where I live. Mara Lake is in the back ground. This golf course is so gorgeous and the views from every hole are amazing.
I used distressing ink on the doily and added some chalk inks. I used a Martha Stewart punch under the photo and added one gem to the center flower. I distressed a lot of layers in this layout and added some ZVA gems and pearls in the corners. The title l cut out and added some inks and stickles to them.
The white swirl leaves are cut out with my cricut and I added some ink to them. The fern type leaves are fussy cut ones then I just kind of scrunched them for dimension. The small flowers are Prima and I added some distress stickles to them.
The three larger flowers and leaves I made. The large green flower is from a tutorial at Swirlydoos and the two white ones are my own, I still want to get a tutorial on here soon on how to make them, they are so easy to make.
Ok well that is the view from around where I live. Mountains everywhere you look. Although right now everything is white, yuck….hehe….I am ready for Spring soon. OH I almost forgot to tell...I submited 3 layouts to Scrapbook News and Review Magazine and they are going to publish all 3 of them in the Feb 13th issue. YIPPEE, that was on my scrappy bucket list..hehe. They are all on older posts on here but I have to remove them this week until after the publication.

Aslo here is a heads up...Swirlydoos has a great give away on their blog right now...but not for much longer so head on over to their blog for a chance at some brand new CHA goodies. Thank you so much for stopping in for a peek. I hope that you all have a fantastic week, be safe and stay warm. Feel free to leave me some scrappy love comments, I love reading them ...take care and happy scrapping J

Mom

Hi everyone and welcome. It is a gorgeous sunny day here, it is -15 but hey its SUNNY..yippeeeeeeee J Ok so yesterday was my moms birthday and she was such a fun loving person and one of my best friends. I miss her a lot. So yesterday I made this layout in memory of her…as I had a glass of one of her favourite wines. I used various papers and cardstocks for this layout.
One my moms favourite flowers were moms and peanees ( not quite sure how to spell that), so I made these flowers for her. I think she would love them, I think they are gorgeous and will probably make lots of them in the future. I also made the leaves, they are pretty cool hey!  I distressed the bottom layers of the paper and used a tonne of Distress inks on the beige paper. I used a deep punch from MS and used some lighter inks on the edges. The two brown flowers are from Petaloo and the smaller ones are from Prima with the Distress ink and Distress stickles on them. I love the Prima Say it with Pearls and Lace that swirls across the page.
The Dusty Attic chippy by the photo was inked in white first then a touch of Merlot ink on the edges. ( no not my merlot that I was drinking ) I added some gems to the DA piece after it was done. The envelope…first I embossed on the designs then I added more Distress inks and some liquid pearls to it. Thanks to Ivana at Scrapthat for the envelope ideas.
The Butterfly I cut out and added some stickles and ZVA crystals to the center. The title letters were white so I stamped them then added some chalk inks to them with some ZVA crystals. Under the title is some masking that I did. I added some liquid pearls to the masked area.
In the top corner is a tag that I made. I added another of my flowers to it, some lace, tulle feathers, inks ribbon, gems and stick pin. I love the little tag I think it’s adorable. I might start making a few more tags for layouts in the future. A practice tag for a challenge this month at Swrilydoos.http://www.swirlydoos.com/news.php
So after it was a completed, I had a toast to my mom and let her know she is always in my thoughts. Thank you so much for stopping in for a peek. I hope that you all have a fantastic week, be safe and stay warm. Feel free to leave me some scrappy love comments, I love reading them ...take care and happy scrapping J
