Fresh Air and Laugher

TGIF..TGIF..TGIF..yippeeee its Friday and yes it is another reveal day at Stuck on U Sketches. J And the sketch this time is just stunning and was so much fun to work with. I just love how you start with a sketch and once you start I just drift off in my own direction. Ok so on with the sketch and layout…this weeks sketch was done by the talented Liz Qualman and I used lots of goodies from my stash for this one. The photo is my son and grand daughter having some fun when we were camping. I did some fussy cutting, distressing and masking on this layout out.

Here is a close up of the masking and flower cluster and I finished it off with a bow and some gorgeous ZVA Creative Pearls.

Here is a close up of the layers of goodies and I made the blue flowers. I just love that green sticky ribbon stuff down the side by the masking..very cool stuff J

And here is a close up of the bow and ZVA pearls. Oh in this close up you can see the edges of the paper too….I just scissor cut the edge and turned it up a bit and inked them.

Ok well that is it for today. Don’t forget to head on over to SOUS for tonnes of inspiration, come and play with us and you have a chance at a gorgeous prize. Thanks again for stopping by and I hope that you have a fantastic weekend.  Feel free to leave me some scrappy love comments, I love reading them ...take care and happy scrapping J

Girlz

Happy Sunday everyone and welcome to my blog J I got my Scrap That! kit a few days ago and finished up my layouts for reveal day and decided to play along at TCR again this week. I made this layout using the sketch from DA and this week’s palette at The Color Room.  I used a tutorial from Scrapperlicious for inspiration on the Girly Grunge look. You can see her blog here. I used lots of Dusty Attic, some of my dads old piano music for the butterflies and a flower and lots of misting and gesso. The photo is my daughter and sister in law.

There are so many layers of Dusty Attic pieces and mists and gesso this was a super fun layout to make. I distressed the outer edges and added some Prima Metal pieces as well.

All of the papers are from Prima. The butterfly and one flower were made from some old piano music from 1940. It was my dads music and I am lucky to have all of his old music. It is really weird paper too..almost a cross between paper and tissue paper and wax paper. It is so discoloured it is perfect for this. Don’t worry though….I would never destroy my dads music, I am lucky enough to have 2 copies of this one specific book.

A close up of the flower and I tucked in a lace doily that I bought from the thrift store.

I did some lacing on t his layout and got to use a new punch set that I just bought J

Ok well that is it for today. Thanks again for stopping by and I hope that you have a fantastic week. I will be back t his week for my final reveal with Sketchabilities and a new reveal for Stuck on U Sketches.  Feel free to leave me some scrappy love comments, I love reading them ...take care and happy scrapping J

Everyday Moments

Hi everyone and welcome to my Blog J I have had a busy scrappy weekend prepping layouts for future reveals and I got this one done also. For this layout I used the sketch from Once Upon a Sketch and the palette this week from The Color Room. I was thrilled to get a feature for my last layout at OUAS. I did lots of distressing, masking, inking and lots of layers of goodies from my stash. The photo is two of my grandkids and I added a velum saying on the side of the photo….I get by with a little help from my friends….the Beatles.

In this close up you can see the masking and the piece of Dusty Attic in the small cluster. I inked the one doily with distress inks and used lots of layers of papers and transparencies.

In the large cluster are DA ferns and snowflake and a piece of the same vine. I added some gems and a crinkle seam binding bow.

Ok well that is it for today. Thanks again for stopping by and I hope that you have a fantastic weekend. I am so excited to get my Scrap That! kit in a few days and get ready for the Oct reveal.  Feel free to leave me some scrappy love comments, I love reading them ...take care and happy scrapping J

That Walk **SOUS / Scrap That! **

Hello and happy Friday to everyone!!! TGIF!!! I love my weekends and I am hoping to fill mine with lots of scrappy time this weekend. Ok so on with my layout for today! It is reveal day at Stuck on U Sketches and here is my layout and the sketch that I got to work with…it is by The Flying Unicorn and was so much fun to work with.  The layout was made with my Scrap That! Exclusive Pion Design “Birdsong” Kit. The photo is my niece and brother in law last month. He was so nervous and had to do that dreaded walk. I did lots of layers, distressing and inking on this layout.

In these close ups is the punched layers and flower cluster. I tucked in a piece of music note chippy from Dusty Attic and the swirls are cut with my Cricut.

You can really see the distressing and layers in this close up.

I added some liquid pearls to the title pieces and flowers and butterflies on this layout.

Ok well that is it for today. Don’t forget to head on over to SOUS for tonnes of inspiration, come and play with us and you have a chance at a gorgeous prize. Angelic **Sketchabilities**

Hi everyone and welcome to my blog. I still cant believe that summer is pretty much over and winter is on its way now..BOO! I hope it’s not a terrible winter! OK on to my layout for today...I used sketch #55 from Sketchabilities for this layout, this weeks palette at TCR, and lots of goodies from my stash..which never seems to go down by the way LOL. I did lots of distressed edges, inking and machine stitching. The photo is my niece last month.  Here is the gorgeous sketch and my take on it.

The title piece is from Dusty Attic and the cute little butterflies are punched out and then I just ink them and add a gem to the center.

For the DA swirl in the flower cluster I first painted white then misted a couple of colors and added some gems to it.

A couple more close ups of all the layers and goodies.

Well that is it for today. Do not forget to stop by Sketchabilities and look at all the gorgeous layouts from the Design Team. They are sure to inspire you. Serenity **TCR/Dusty Attic/Scrap That!**

Happy Sunday everyone! This is a wonderful day full of miracles here in BC Canada. My son lives in a small town in BC and on Wednesday this week a child was abducted while he was sleeping. My son’s family helped out with feeding the search crews. The man that abducted him brought him home this morning and he is safe with his family again….a true miracle!!! The child is the same age as my grand daughter in this layout. So happy he is safe now. For this layout I used the sketch from Dusty Attic, this weeks palette at The Color Room and papers from my Scrap That! stash. This is the first hybrid layout I have ever done and I made all the flowers myself.

The title piece is from a digital kit as well as a few other pieces that I cut out and used on this layout. The DA under the title is a border that I used Gabrielle’s tutorial to alter the piece. I made all of the flowers to match this weeks palette. The lacing is done with twine.

The DA piece in the photo corner is cut up to make it the shape I needed it.

A close up of all the layers.

Ok well that is it for today. Thanks again for stopping by and I hope that you have a fantastic week.  Feel free to leave me some scrappy love comments, I love reading them ...take care and happy scrapping J
