Hello and welcome, the holidays are winding down fast now. I had to go back to work today, but got home with enough good light to get some photos of this layout. I used my Swirlydoos Curio kit. This is a photo of my Mom on her wedding day. She was such a cutie. The papers remind me of heritage so I thought this photo was perfect for this layout.
I did a lot of cut outs and used pop ups on them in this layout. I also did some stamping as you can see on the close up below.
I distressed the edges and used some chalk inks on them. I made the larger flowers myself, a great tutorial at Swirlydoos. This link will take  you to the tutorial.
In the close up below you can see the stamping on the background paper and more cut outs. I did the swirls with liquid pearls.
In this close up you can see the rub on with rhinestones that came in the kit as well.
I want to wish all of you a great New Year. If you are going out please be safe. Thank you so much for all of your support with my scrapping. Feel free to leave some scrappy love comments, I love reading them ...take care and happy scrapping J

Special Delivery

Hello and welcome to my blog. I have a new member of my family recently and I am doing a few layouts for my niece and their new baby. For this one I used my Swirlydoos Curio kit. Talk about beautiful papers. At first I thought they looked a little busy, but I am loving them.
I punched around the outside paper and used lots of layers and distressing on this layout. The cute little envelopes came with the kit. I made the orange flowers myself and added a few from my stash. I distressed some of the layers and used some chalk inks on the edges of them.
In the close up below you can see the fussy cutting that I did with one of the papers to get the flowers. I used pop ups on them to make them stand out. The lettering I just printed out and inked. The bird is also a cut out from the kit papers. I used some liquid pearls to make the swirls.
This kit is really just so beautiful and I think I am going to get a good dozen layouts done from it. Thank you so much for stopping in for a peek, I hope that you all have a great New Year . Feel free to leave some scrappy love comments, I love reading them ...take care and happy scrapping J

Well Christmas has come and gone for another year. I still have some company and am still enjoying my family around for the holidays. I made this layout for my niece. They just had their first baby and it is a very exciting time for them. I used colors from The Color Room #38 for this layout.
In the close up below you can see all the layers and distressing that I did. I made the fan flowers and the bronze coloured flowers. I used Tattered Angels Glimmer mist on the flowers to get just the right colors that I needed. I used the same mist on the lace trim as well as the Dusty Attic chippy on top.
In this close up below you can see the DA chippy, I used some chalks on it also. The butterfly I cut out and used stickles on it.
This layout was so much fun to make The colors this week were very challenging, but I love the finished layout.  Thank you so much for stopping by for a peek and have a great week. Feel free to leave some scrappy love comments, I love reading them ...take care and happy scrapping J

Timeless

Only 2 more sleeps now…hehe …yippee!!! I got my curio kit from Swirlydoos and I am probably going to be doing lots of layouts over the holidays with it. It has a vintage feel to it so I might do quite a few heritage layouts. This is a photo of my mom and dad when they were young.
I painted the Dusty Attic chippy with acrylic and then used some stickles on it. I did water distressing on the outer edge of that paper and some chalking and inking on it as well. The bird I cut out and added some stickles to it.
I made the blue flowers and the fan flower, the other flowers are from Petaloo, and the blue gems are from Tiffany’s Treasure. The gems in the corners are from my stash, as well as the tulle and ribbon. You can use the Swirlydoos link to get to the flower tutorial.
I added more flowers, a gem and another bird in the top corner and a Prima Say it with Pearls in various areas on the layout.
I love the papers in the collection and cant wait to get into the next layout. Thank you so much for stopping by for a peek. I hope that each and every one of you has a fantastic Christmas and please stay safe and warm. Feel free to leave some scrappy love comments, I love reading them ...take care and happy scrapping J

Forever Loved

Hello and welcome to my blog. I had just enough time to get in one more layout before all of my Christmas company starts to arrive. This is a very old photo of my mom and I did so many different things in this layout. I used mostly Basic Grey Curio collection papers.

In the close up below you can see that I did a lot of water distressing on two layers of the paper. I then used a bronze ink and black chalk on the edges. I used Tattered Angel mist around the inside edges of the top layer. I did a lot of fussy cutting and used pop ups on the flowers. The larger burgundy flowers I made myself as well as I used my cricut to cut out the leaves. The Dusty Attic chippy in the corner I inked and used stickles and liquid pearls on it. I also made the swirls with liquid pearls.

In this close up below you can see the stamping and inking that I did to make the music paper. I used a Martha Stewart punch around the photo and chalked it with black on the edges.

In this next close up you can see that I also did some distressing around the edges of the photo.

This layout was so much fun to make. I love trying all kinds of new things. Thank you so much for stopping by for a peek. I hope that each and every one of you has a fantastic Christmas and please stay safe and warm. Feel free to leave some scrappy love comments, I love reading them ...take care and happy scrapping J

Merry Christmas Everyone

WOW Christmas is only 5 days away now…and I am pretty much totally ready for it. This is a photo of my dad last Christmas, he  loved Christmas and was always so generous. I made this layout for a challenge at Swirlydoos.  I used the IOD Night Divine papers and used a lot of layers. I did some machine stitching around the bottom layer.
Below is a close up of the water distressing. I am having so much fun doing that. I made the winter roses myself and used Bobunny trim. I did a lot of inking and chalking on the distressing as well.
In the close up below you can see the water distressed flowers that I made and the butterflies that I cut from Prima packaging and just added stickles to them. In the area that is torn the is a large acrylic gem, it is hard to see in this photo though. I added some tulle and My Minds Eye brads also.
In the photo below is another close up of my water distressed flowers, and I used a Dusty Attic chippy that I painted and added some distressed stickles to. There is another gem stick pin in the top corner.
Thank you so much for stopping by for a peek. I hope that each and every one of you have a fantastic Christmas and please stay safe and warm. Feel free to leave some scrappy love comments, I love reading them ...take care and happy scrapping J

JOY

This is my first layout for the Color Room #37. I thought that I would try it out there and try some different color combos. The photo is of my son and daughter in law. I just used paper from my stash for this one.
I made all the larger flowers myself, a great tutorial at Swirlydoos. I did a lot of layers and used a punch around the edges of one of them. I inked the leaves to match the color challenge as well.
I printed out the butterflies and used stickles on them. I did water distressing on a couple of the layers of paper and then inked the edges of them to make it stand out some.
Below is a close up of the flowers again as well as the chippy that I inked and then smootched. I added some gems here and there as well. You can also see the punched oval that I did with a corner punch then added some liquid pearls to it.
As always thank you so much for visiting my blog and I hope that everyone has a great Christmas season and stay safe and warm. Feel free to leave some scrappy love comments, I love reading them ...take care and happy scrapping J

The Most Important Things in Life are Not Things

I thought that I needed a bit of a change from Christmas layouts so I picked this wonderful photo of my son and grand daughter walking peacefully into the endless sky in Saskatchewan. I used cardstock, some Pink Paisley paper, velum for the fans and the main paper is from Prima, the Fairy Florra Collection.

Below are the flowers that I made for this layout, a great tutorial from Swirlydoos, here is the link to the flowers  You can also see all the distressing and inking that I have done on this layout.

Below is another close up of the flowers and fans that I made.

I used a Prima Stencil and distressing ink on the top of the paper and the chippy I colored with distressing ink and distressing stickles.

As always thank you so much for visiting my blog and I hope that everyone has a great Christmas Season and stays safe and warm. Feel free to leave some scrappy love comments, I love reading them ...take care and happy scrapping J

Christmas Past

11 days now until Christmas…my house is now decorated, yippee. And it was a bit sunny today so I ran outside to get pics of my layouts. I can show one today but the other has to wait until Monday when its my turn in the Round Robin challenge at Swirlydoos. The layout today I got an idea from a layout at scrapbook.com by Fabinou. I found this old photo of my kids and decided to build the layout around it. This wreath consisted of so many cut outs and lots of twisting of the paper to make it appear 3D, and in person it is gorgous and so many layer and little pieces sticking out.
Below is a close up of the many layers of ivy cut out and layered. I also used some co-ordinating stickers with pop ups to make them stand out also.
Below is a close up of the gorgeous flowers that came with the kit.
Well that is it for today, I have some gorgeous flowers on the go for when my Basic Grey Curio kit arrives, cant wait to get at that kit J Thanks for stopping in to take a peek. I hope that you all have a great week. Feel free to leave some scrappy love comments, I love reading them ...take care and happy scrapping J
