Hi everyone and I hope you are having a great weekend! I decorated my house yesterday, pretty much finished my Christmas shopping today (the dogs bought me some really beautiful new slippers, hehe)….and now I just have to tackle wrapping them..not a favourite of mine. The first 2 gifts always get wrapped so gorgeous, bows and ribbons and then I get sick of it and they all start to look like a 2 year old wrapped them  hehe…actually they might do a better job of it!!!! LOL! Ok so on with my layout, I made this one using this weeks palette at The Color Room. I had a lot of problems with this weeks palette..but I do like the way this turned out in the end. I used just plain beige card stock and made my own back ground. I also made all of the flowers. The white ones I used my cricut to make them and the blue one is from some hand dyed silk and a glubber. LOVE GLUBBERS! If you have not seen them, google UTube for them, they are amazing for making fabric blooms. The photo is my grandson playing in some leaves and having a great time doing it.

I did lots of masking and inking on the background. Here is a close up of one of my flowers. I tucked some gauze and goodies in behind it.

Another close up of my flowers and leaves. In the background you can see the fence mask and I did some stamping on top of it. I used some Donna Salazar papers for the flowers and also on a background layer.

I love these Dusty Attic trees and finally got to use one. I did lots of misting and added some glimmer glam, glaze and stickles to it. The background here is a Prima mask and glimmer mists.

Ok well that is it for today.  Thanks again for stopping by and I hope that you have a fantastic weekend.  Feel free to leave me some scrappy love comments, I love reading them ...take care and happy scrapping J

Special Moments **SOUS**

Hello everyone and welcome. WOOT WOOT…TGIF!!!!!! And a long weekend too for me!  I took a couple of vacation days to hopefully start to decorate for the holidays. I got a smidgy done today, I hope more tomorrow J  Ok so on with my layout for today! It is reveal day at Stuck on U Sketches and here is my layout and the sketch that I got to work with…it is by Page Maps. The photo is my son and family and if you look closely at my daughter in law, this family is about to get bigger. We are expecting a New Years Baby J weeeeeeeeeeee!!!! That is what the journaling is about on this page….the day they announced to a lot of the family that they were expecting. I used lots of Prima goodies from my Scrap That! Romantique kit, did some masking, sewing and the large flower is handmade form hand dyed silk.

I used a piece of Dusty Attic that is first painted then I used some glimmer mists on it and added some gems to finish it off. You can see all the distressing and water distressing that I have done in the corner. TIP: to water distress, just mist the paper..fold it how you like…then I dry it with a heat tool and ink it.

In the top corner you can see the machine stitching and the masking that I did. Masking is one of my favs on a layout..it just adds to the layers.

I used to make hand dyed silk scarves and I have lots of material left so now I make flowers for my layouts. They are just gorgeous I think! I have added some other blooms, a crystal swirl and a hand punched butterfly to it.

Ok well that is it for today. Don’t forget to head on over to SOUS for tonnes of inspiration. I just love how every take on one sketch is so different. Thanks again for stopping by and I hope that you have a fantastic weekend.  Feel free to leave me some scrappy love comments, I love reading them ...take care and happy scrapping J

SHABBY SNOWFLAKE FLOWERS

Hi everyone…this is a super easy flower to make for holiday projects

Supplies:
Chipboard snowflakes
White Acrylic Paint (I love the dabber it is so easy to use)
Gems
Snowflakes cut from white cardstock
Brown Chalk Ink
Stickles
Glimmer Mist

 Step One:
Paint your chipboard piece and set aside to dry.

Step Two:
I cut my snowflakes with my cricut to start... in a few different sizes. Now I ink around the edges of all the snowflakes.

Step Three:
Ink around the chippy snowflake and add a gem to the center of it. I have bent up and crinkled the snowflakes before putting them together. This will add some dimension to them.

Step Four:
Layer your snowflakes and glue them together.

Step Five
To finish off the snowflakes I have added some stickles to them, some clear and some gold, and then I spayed them with some light colored glimmer mist to make them shimmer.

That is it, so easy and fast. These are very vintage looking on holiday heritage layouts. Here is a little peek of an upcoming project with one on it.

Joy to the World

Happy hump day everyone!  A big thanks to all my lovely followers that have left me comments on my last few posts, and also happy wishes to everyone that is celebrating Thanksgiving tomorrow….enjoy the day!  Well I finally started my Christmas cards, yippee!!! This one was made for Card Challenge Tuesday with thier sketch over at BoBunny.

I used lots of BoBunny goodies on this card. The red bottom piece is from their Timepiece collection. The wreath is from white and black BoBunny dot paper. I first misted the paper with glimmer mist is an olive color and then used a Martha S punch for the twigs. I glued them all together to make a wreath..added some vintage seam binding from my stash, a couple of tiny roses and some BoBunny jewels from the Timepiece collection. I then finished it off with a Joy to the World stamp which I outlined in a gold pen, and some rock candy stickles on the swirls.

Ok well that is it for today. Thanks again for stopping by and I hope that you have a fantastic Thanksgiving.  Feel free to leave me some scrappy love comments, I love reading them ...take care and happy scrapping J

Hot off the Runway **TCR, Dusty Attic**

TGIF!!! Its reveal day at The Color Room..and sadly this is my last reveal as an RDA. OMG I had so much fun there..the design team is amazing, so encouraging and helpful. Love them ..I hope they ask me back some time. For my layout this week I also used this months sketch from Dusty Attic, lots of distressing, inking, misting and the two larger fushia flowers are hand made from hand dyed silk. The photo is my great niece this summer…such a little sweetie pie.

I used a large DA frame piece under the flower cluster. It is first painted white, then I used some glimmer mists and glimmer glaze on it. After that was dry I used some Tim Holtz Rock Candy crackle paint on it for a finish. You can see one of my hand made flowers here.

One of the bottom layers of paper is a resist paper. I used lots of distress inks and mists to get the right colors for this week. I added in a paper doily and a hand made doily under the photo.

Here is the large cluster of flowers and goodies. I also punched out the cute little butterflies and tucked them in a few places. A satin bow and a Prima shabby chic bird to finish this all off.

Ok well that is it for today. I got my December kit from Scrap That! soooo excited I can work on that this weekend  Thanks again for stopping by and I hope that you have a fantastic weekend.  Feel free to leave me some scrappy love comments, I love reading them ...take care and happy scrapping J

Sister Hood

Happy Hump Day! Hehe…I am actually off of work today..so I got to finish off this layout that I have been working on, ran outside to get a couple of photos before the snow blows in. YES SNOW! Grrrr hehe. OK so this layout is based on the sketch over at Once Upon a Sketch. I love it there, there is a journaling criteria and I need that little push to journal. You had to pick something special about being a woman, so I picked my daughters and Sister Hood and what is special about that. I have used one of the new Glitz collections, some Dusty Attic chippys, Prima and Petaloo flowers and lots of Tattered Angels goodies.

For this chippy I have first painted it white then I used some TA Glimmer Glam on it. The stamping under it is from LaBlanche and they are the nicest most intricate stamps.

Close up of the distressing and journaling. I also did a bit of light masking behind the journaling with a Prima mask and TA Glimmer mists.

I have used the same stamping under this flower cluster and used some of the paper scraps to make a little fan to tuck in.

This is my fav piece of this layout. The dress form chippy. I first embossed it, then I used some TA glimmer mists and inks on it, and added some liquid pearls to finish it off. The swirl behind it is done with molding paste and a mask. I added some glimmer mist to the paste to get a pinkish color then added some ink to it after it dried.

Ok well that is it for today. I will be back tomorrow with my reveal for The Color Room. Thanks again for stopping by and I hope that you have a fantastic week.  Feel free to leave me some scrappy love comments, I love reading them ...take care and happy scrapping J

A Little Dirt Never Hurt

Hi everyone and welcome to my blog. So I am making a few layouts for a friend for her to give as Xmas gifts…framed…to some family members. Ok so I made this one yesterday and then stole it for ME hehe!!!!!! I fell in love with it and could not resist putting a photo of my grandson on it. I can make a similar one for her now. So I decided as I was making it to use it for a challenge at Girly Grunge this month. I used my Zutter for distressing, and the large flower and butterflies are made with DS Antiquities Vintage Gears paper.

In the top corner you can see the cute little title sticker and all the distressing and sewing. I have used some corrugated board with gesso and glimmer mists. The board, flower and butterflies are all misted with Tattered Angels Glimmer mists.

I did a bit of lacing which is an inspiration from Natasha at Girly Grunge.

I added a Dusty Attic border onto the photo with is altered with TA Glimmer Mist and then some rock candy on it.

I also used some DA leaves which have been painted white first then I added some stamping, inking and more rock candy crackle paint to it. I made the large flower using the same two mists.

This is actually my 2nd layout for this challenge. I will reveal the other one in a week or so. I have so many projects completed, but they have to reveal on design teams first and then I get to show them here J My Scrap That! Dec Kit should be here in a few days and I have a HUGE challenge planned for the Holidays. Yepp..13 prizes up for grabs! ANYONE can enter these challenges at Scrap That! You do not have to be a subscriber…it is our little way of saying thank you to everyone that has supported us over the year.

Ok well that is it for today. Thanks again for stopping by and I hope that you have a fantastic week.  Feel free to leave me some scrappy love comments, I love reading them ...take care and happy scrapping J
