Flying Unicorn April Kit “A Touch of Spring” Part 1

Hi everyone! Today is reveal day for the Flying Unicorn April Kit “A Touch of Spring” and I am going to show you a couple of the creations that I have made with it. I LOVE this kit. It is just loaded with so many amazing goodies!

My first layout is titled Enjoy the simple things and is my grand daughter. I have used the Glitz papers in the kit and have done lots of distressing, and gesso work.

The next few layouts are done with a sketch that I made…and believe me it is the big joke over at the Flying Unicorn for a while now LOL!. I TRIED to make a sketch in draw on the computer and I have no clue what to do, BUT I promised Alda I would do the life of a sketch theme with some layouts from my kit. I actually made 4 layouts with it. Take a look at this masterpiece J hehe…it is like a kids drawing and the writing is even worse! LOL!
Here is the Sketch that the sweetie Tammy from the CT made using mine as a base for it. I think she felt bad for me LOL!

The first one with the sketch is called Adventure and I have used the Fabscraps and Glitz papers in the kit. The photo is my grandson playing in the leaves. Lots of distressing a bit of masking and I have used my cricut to cut lots of shapes for this one. Love the yummy Dusty Attic vine up the side.

This layout is also using that yummy sketch hehe. Delight in the Beauty that Surrounds You is a photo of my daughter and features some of the Fabscraps and Megs Garden papers in the kit. NO distressing eeeeek LOL! I have also added in the Dusty Attic cherry blossom vine and the title is also on a DA chippy. I made a couple of the purple flowers with a punch I have and added a tiny flower to the center.

Ok and here is my last one for this post featuring the Glitz papers and some yummy Dusty Attic.  The Birthday Boy is my grandson he just turned two. Also using that sketch LOL!

I made the flowers using my Tim Holtz diecut and added some buttons from the kit and some twine bows.

Love the cute little hearts I made using the kit papers and between the layers I have added some lace to give it dimension. Ink the edges, add a flower and a twine bow. I used some gesso on the circle and some machine stitching in the corner.

I used a tutorial from Ingrid Gooyer at Dusty Attic for the chippy. You just add some beads to gesso and blob it on the chippy. I then added some mists. Looks cool huh!

Ok well that is it for today. Hurry on over to the store to grab your kit before they are all gone. I will be back with Part 2 Kit Reveal in a couple of days.   Have a great week! Feel free to leave me some scrappy love comments, I love reading them ...take care and happy scrapping J

I love those hearts! I don't know how you come up with these ideas. Who cares how your sketch looks (which is pretty funny, btw, hubby wanted to know what I was laughing at) when you can create such beautiful and creative layouts! Thanks for the inspiration once again! :)

Totally chiming in with Vicky; SHABBYLICIOUS times SHABBYLICIOUS it is! my gosh I've been scrolling up and down so many times trying to take in all the über amazing details and techniques you have used. Tee hee seems you did just fine conveying your ideas with the sketch. Am totally no good at digi. Will definitely try the beads on gesso. Loving that Meg's papers have travelled over there, they are a fussy cutters dream. Delightful hearts. What a fabulous blog post Shona, have to read it again! xoxox
