Flying Unicorn March Kit of Month – Sweet Days– Part 1

Hi everyone. It is reveal day for the Flying Unicorn March Kit of Month – Sweet Days and this kit is just jam packed full of amazing products. I have 3 layouts to share today. For my layout I have used the Kaisercraft Marigold Collection in the kit. The colors on this collection are so much fun and just gorgeous papers.

The kit also comes with some cute little chippys that I have used and just left naked hehe. And look at those yummy flowers that are in the kit, so bright and so much fun!

Kaisercraft always has all these amazing embellishment pieces. It really makes it so easy to create with their collections. The kit also comes with some Ranger paints and I have done some splashes and drips with one here.

For this layout I have used the same collection of papers and added lots of stamping with the paints in the kit.

The chicken wire stamping is done with some of the Ranger paints and the drips are some Shimmerz and gesso mixed up.

Again look at all the fun embellishment pieces with this collection.

This kit also features the gorgeous Websters Park Drive collection. For this layout I have just done some tearing of the papers, masking and lots of distressing.

The masking is done with a Crafters Workshop stencil, and the flowers are misted with some Shimmerz Licorice, also available in the Flying Unicorn store.

CSI #60 A Baby

Hi everyone! Shona here today with a layout I have made for the current challenge at CSI…and did you know that the Flying Unicorn sponsors CSI for their weekly challenges and we give out weekly prizes there? For this challenge I decided to create my own background using the color palette. So I have started with some white cardstock and just went at it with the colors.

 

First I did some masking with a Prima Mask and some molding paste in the background. Then to bring out that masking I have added some Shimmerz Treasured Hymn Spritz. Adding some colored mists to your masking helps to make it pop. The chippy is covered with some Stampendous Embossing Ivory powder and they just shimmer so pretty. All of the yummy flowers and bead trims are from Green Tara.

 

 I have added a hidden tag with some journaling and don’t forget to save your flower packaging to use as photo mats on your creations! The cute little resin pieces are also from Prima.

Bangs

Hi everyone! Yesterday I was so so lucky to get some Happy Mail…gotta love that! I had won a draw on Inkido’s Facebook page around CHA time and they sent me the yummy Inkido Beautiful Memories Collection. These papers are really pretty and they distress beautifully. So anyways I had to play last night. My daughter recently got some BANGS hehe….too cute and look at her she looks 16 again. I also  used this fun sketch from Scrapfriends.

 

In the background behind the photo is have sprayed some yummy Shimmerz Spritz in Treasured Hymn. The flowers are also colored with Shimmerz in Spritz Chick a dee and Vibez Before Dawn. Love those  yummy Shimmery Shimmerz drips. The cute little butterflies are fussy cut from the collection papers.

 

I tucked in some Dusty Attic chippys and have finished them off with a coat of gesso and then misted them with some Licorice Shimmerz while the gesso is still wet.

Perfect **Shimmerz**

HI everyone... today I am up on the Shimmerz blog with a little Pictorial on how I did my background using some yummy Shimmerz products.

Step 1:

I have distressed a sheet of corrugated board and some paper and glued them together. I then misted with some water and gave it a white wash with some gesso.

Step 2:

I added 2 more pieces of corrugated cardboard and more gesso on it. Use your heat tool to dry.

Step 3:

Use some Shimmerz Spritz Carribean Sunset and cover the gesso areas. I used a pencil to mark where my photo will go.

Step 4:

I have used a paintbrush and some Vibez Before Dawn to make the drips and splats on the page. Don’t be afraid, tip the paper and watch the drips form. Use your heat tool to dry.

Step 5:

Next is some crazy stitching on the background. FUN!

Step 6:

I have some gauz and I have used Shimmerz to color it. Just spray it on, and use your heat tool to dry.

Step 7:

I now have arranged all of the embellishments. Cover the photos with paper towel and mist with the Shimmerz Carribean Sunset all of the flowers and embellishments. This will tie them all in together with the layout and give them all a fabulous shimmer.

This is my finished layout of my grandson..what a cutie pie!!
