We are THRILLED that our September Guest Designer is the seriously talented and very sweet Gabrielle Pollacco!!!! Yes! Gabrielle is joining us once again at Flying Unicorn to share her creativity and inspiration using our September Kit. On September 01, 2014 we will share her incredible inspiration , until then we are thrilled to present our September Your Art Your Passion Kit of the Month.

Our main kit is never complete without an off the page project to get you motivated. This month we have a paper mache mannequin that is already fro you to alter. Let your imagination soar and check out some of the amazing inspiration from the Creative Team.

From the beginner to the avid mixed media artist our Mixed Art add on kit will surely please you. Our Mixed Art kit will always come with a canvas and this month we have included a circle canvas ready for you to get your mojo going. Oh and an extra special wooden paint palette has been included for you to use or alter with paints Flying Unicorn Adornments and mists galore.

Flowers, chipboard, and vines oh my! Our Mixed Passion is a collection of everything pretty to add to the Main kit or the add on kits. The colors and embellishments will enhance your Kit of the month creations or it can stand alone and you can create something magical! So turn the music up order that pizza for the family and lock your self away while you create some pure yumminess!

Mixed Media Layout - Creative Embellishments and Shimmerz

Hi everyone! I am here today with a fun mixed media layout to share featuring lots of yummy Shimmerz Products and beautiful Creative Embellishments chippys!  I have used Shimmerz Texturez and Dazzlerz for the background masking...and some of the new yummy Inklingz for added color. The Creative Embellishments Chippys are all left naked...I adore them this way!

 

You can see some masking here using some Artie Choked Texturez. Flourish 10 Chippy  piece tucked into the cluster with some Petaloo flowers and Metal Adornments from the Flying Unicorn.

 

I just love the new Inklingz...so easy to use just add a wee bit of water and stir them up to create these yummy shimmery colors to add to your project. Here I have used some Sun Kissed, Coral Reef and Im Not Limon.

 

the writing masking is created with Dazzlerz Spun Sugar. The CE chipboard frame behind the photo is Love knot Panel.

Happy Place Canvas - Creative Embellishments

Hi everyone! I am up on the Creative Embellishments blog today and I have a small canvas to share with you.  The chippys are all finished with a coat of gesso and some Shimmerz Inklingz on top. I love the finish when using that and you can get a cool look from it.  

 

Here are a couple of close ups of that yummy flourish 15….look at the amazing texture and shimmer on it!

 

 

The square chippys are so much fun to use as a frame or tuck into the layers!

 

I trimmed a small bit from the Flourish and added on the top of the canvas.

Fabscraps Oh Sew Beutiful Collection

Hi everyone!! Today I have some cards and a tag to share featuring the NEW Fabscraps Oh Sew Beautiful Collection…I just adore all the pieces in this collection from the papers to the gorgoues embellishment pieces!

 

Just look at the yummy colors on this card! I added in some lace from the Flyign Unicorn and the chippy is finished with some Shimmerz Inklingz.

 

Lots of fun collection goodies on this card…those scissors are just so awesome!

 

Last I have an oversize tag with the collection. I added in some Fabscraps Metals on this one.

Best Friends - Shimmerz

Hello Shimmerz Fans! Today I am up on the Shimmerz blog and I have a fun mixed media layout to share today. The photo is me and hubs when we were on Vancouver Island last month. I have  used 7 Dots Natures walk Collection and embellishments from the Flying Unicorn store.

 

To start I added some layers of masking in the background. First I used some molding paste and added some Bamboo Leaf Spritz to it. I also added some of the new Inklingz in Brass Knuckles and I’m Not Limon to the masking. Adding some color just brings the masking out.

After this layer of masking was complete I added more masking with Tidy Widy Texturez and some drips of Spritz Bamboo Leaf and Before Dawn Vibez.

To finish off my layout I have added some touches of Brass Knuckles Inklingz on the embellishments and Creative Embellishments chippys. I also used some of the Bamboo Leaf Spritz and a paint brush and painted a boarder around the layout....I was inspired from Keren Tamir on that little tip.

Flying Unicorn AugustYour Passion Your Art KOM part 2

Hi everyone! I am back with a couple more projects from the Flying Unicorn August kit. Each month Alda adds an off the page item to the kit. I just adore the one this month and decided to go for a beach theme and add in some photos of my grandsons. First I covered it with gesso and finished it with lots of yummy Shimmerz Spritz and Inklingz…there is so much texture and shimmer!

 

 

I added some Creative Embellishments chippy pieces on the outside glass.

 

May Arts trims and jute ribbons.

 

And here is the little glass door opened up to 2 photos of my grandsons with more Creative Embellishment nautical and movie theme chippys.

 

The mixed media kit came with this super cool triangle canvas this month and I used it for this months challenge at the Color Room. Swing by there for more inspiration and join on in on the challenge!

 

 

 

The papers are from 7 Dots Natures Walk and I lined the outer edges with twine.

 

A mixture of Prima flowers with the Creative Embellishments chippys and Flying Unicorn metal adornments. Such a fun canvas to create, and everything is available at the Flying Unicorn store!

Happy Happy Happy - DT Creative Embellishments

Hi everyone! A new monthly challenge reveals on the Creative Embellishments Blog today! This months inspiration photo inspired me on this little card I have made. I loved the swirl of flowers on the inspo photo and the gold tones of color. My title is from Pharrell Williams song….. “Happy”.

 

 

I have used a frame from the Fancy Rectangle Frame set and cut it into 4 pieces…one for each corner of the card. The papers are from the Vintage Pink Collection from Riddersholm. The chippys are finished with some new Inklings from Shimmerz.

 

I also tucked in pieces of the Moroccan Lattice Panel with the clusters.
