WELCOME to the Scrap That! Blog Hop and August Kit Reveal!!

Hi everyone! WELCOME to the Scrap That! Blog Hop and August Kit Reveal!! If you have just arrived here from Robin, you are in the correct place! If not, head back to the Scrap That! Blog and join us. Today I will be sharing 3 layouts I created using the Scrap That! August Kit "Somewhere in Time" This is my first reveal on the team and I am so excited!

For my first layout “precious” I used the gorgeous kit sketch by LG. Yes that is BoBunny paper in the background, but I have used some gesso and did some masking on it. The photo is my grand kids.

Here are some close-ups of the gorgeous flowers and gems that came in the kit and the masking that I did. The title piece is from Dusty Attic.

Tip: to make your paper curl and stay in place (as under my title piece) just mist the paper a bit and fold up or crease the paper. You can let it air dry or use a heat tool on it, once dried, the paper stays in place perfectly.

For my “Parker” layout I also used the BoBunny papers from the kit. The brick wall is built from Dusty Attic brick chippys. Scrap That! is now a Dusty Attic distributor so you can pre order or buy directly from the Scrap That! store.

In these close ups you can see the burlap, flowers and goodies that came with the kit. The card stock back ground is from my stash.

I wanted to go a bit more feminine with one layout so I used the IOD papers on my “US” layout. I framed the photo of my daughter and grandson with the DA ornate corners that come in the kit. I first painted them with some peach acrylic paint and then I used some glimmer mist on it, and added some liquid pearls to it.

I used lots of chalk inks on my layers to make them pop and also on the punched out butterflies. The peach flowers I made using a tutorial by fellow DT member, Vicky Alberto. You should check out the tutorial section when you are hopping by the Scrap That! Ning Community.

Just a few more close ups.

Now head over to Tina’s blog for more amazing creations using the Scrap That! "Somewhere in Time” Kit.

Each l/o is so rich with detail and layers - can't pick just one fave! but I do have a favourite detail in Parker: it's the detail-cut door, and the way the paper is torn and curls back beside it. It's a "reveal" of the empty space behind it, and contrasts so nicely with the frayed burlap/ wildflower garden. Awesome.

Shona, the detail and beauty that you put into your LO's is just awesome. I always enlarge them in order to enjoy them more! That brick wall looks REAL! Great work.
