Beautiful

Sunday blahs!!! Well did all my laundry, its gloomy outside, so what better way to beat the Blahs than to scrap a bit, so I made a layout and a card. I used the Prima Botanical Collection for the layout and card, and I added is lots of various flowers and some Dusty Attic chippys. The photo is my daughter and son in law when they got married. We were all in Vegas and that was a great vacation!

I distressed the main paper and water distressed the one by the photo mat. I used a MS punch to punch around the photo mat and added some inks to the edges. The butterflies are punched from Prima packaging and I added some stickles to the centers and inked the edges. I tucked in a Botanical Chipboard piece and added the little “I do” sticker to it.

I used twine to tie the Prima key to the top section with a small piece of the vine, flowers, and another Botanical chip board piece. The title is a piece of Dusty Attic, first I misted it with a Mocha pearl spray, than I used chalk inks on the bottom half of it and covered it with Glossy Accents.

In this close up you can see the twine with the lock tied on the photo. I used a vine and various Prima flowers on the large cluster, and tucked in a couple more Botanical chip board pieces and a piece of Dusty Attic. I finished it the same way as the title and added some pearls to it.

Below is a close up of the flowers and two side shots of them.

I also used the same collection to make a little card. I added some Prima flowers a Canvas piece and used some liquid pearls in the stamped areas.

Well that is it for my Sunday. I can not believe that it is almost April…that is just unreal! We still have a few inches of snow left here but it is melting fast now..yippee. One week today is when my Feature Artist piece appears on Srapbook New and Review. It includes a new layout and tutorial. I will post the link when I get it.

Thank you so much for stopping in for a peek. I hope that you all have a fantastic week, be safe and stay warm. Feel free to leave me some scrappy love comments, I love reading them ...take care and happy scrapping

Hey, Shona .. yes, they are Creative Memories albums. After having others that fell apart, I'm a died in the wool CM album fanatic. I can put about 15 pages in them that are heavily embellished. So, 30 LOs. They bulge a bit but that's okay with me. I can usually add some addt'l flat pages (about 5) when I want to include a bunch of photos that aren't embellished. Since they are easily expandable, it works fine .. so far no problems. Hope you have a great day .. off to work for me!

Hey, Shona, saw this one featured at sb.com last night .. woohoo! I have used some of the side-loading pages on flatter pages but even then I'm not a huge fan. Since there is no metal strip where you put your hands to turn the pages, things can get bent somewhat by "little hands." And there is almost no way to get 2 heavily emblellished pages in a side loading page, so the back side would have to be .. maybe for journaling or something. I've done it (gotten 2 in there) in my Mom's album but things are a little squished in that SL page. They are flimsier too. So, I use the regular pages with page protectors. I feel that gives my projects more stability even though the thickness does take up some room. I usually don't tape my pages in there until I am absolutely certain that I won't be wanting to add anything else. Once I'm sure, I go back and lift the LO a little and tape near the edges to secure them for posterity .. heehee! One more thing you might want to know .. before they came out with the true 12x12, I used to put my 12x12 pages in the old albums and let the edges go across the jute strip . The page protectors didn't completely cover the LO but it was a way to stick with the size I wanted in an album cover system that would hold up over time. I've looked at the D ring binders but they look to me like the pages might sag .. so I'm sticking with CM for now~ Always happy to answer questions!
