Very Easy Chippy AlterationsTutorial

Hi every one, this will be my first of 2 posts for today. At the beginning of April I was a Featured Artist at Scrapbook New and Review and this is the tutorial that I did with that feature layout.  Have you noticed that one of the big new embellishments is chippys, but what do you do with them, how do you alter them? Well I am going to show you my version of three very simple ways to finish them and my layout with them on it.

Supplies needed:
Inks, chalks, Distress stain, mists…what ever you wish to cover your chippy with
Glossy Accents or Crackle Accents
Gems or pearls

Piece 1 - Corner Scrolls
Step 1
First I misted them with both Perfect Pearls and Smooch. I used my heat tool to dry them.

Step 2
I applied a coat of Glossy Accents and let this dry. This is going to give your chippy a high glossy effect when it is finished. If you want a crackle effect add Crackle Accents or Distress Crackle instead. This photo is what they look like right after applying the GA. Once completely dried and added to my layout I added a couple of gems in the centers.

Piece 2  - Title Cherish
Step 1
This one is so easy. I just painted the top half with Pink Smooch and the bottom half with Mocha Smooth. I used my heat tool to dry this and then added Crackle Accents to it.

Piece 3 – Vine

Step 1
First I cut this vine in half to get more use from it. Then I covered it with Distress Stain and used my heat gun to dry it. Next I just added two different colors of chalk inks and covered it with Glossy Accents.

As you can see the chippys add so much to a layout for texture and dimention. They are easy to alter and there is so many ways to do that, playing around with them is the best way to learn. Swirlydoos and Dusty Attic both have wonderful tutorials on altering the chippys as well.

Thank you so much for stopping in for a peek. I hope that you all have a fantastic week, be safe and stay warm. Feel free to leave me some scrappy love comments, I love reading them ...take care and happy scrapping J
