Shona's Shabbylicious Flowers - Flying Unicorn

Hi everyone! It is Playdate Thursday at the Flying Unicorn and I have some Shabbylicious flowers for you to make. First off I save bits and pieces of burlap, canvas, trims etc…and these shabby flowers are perfect for those bits and pieces you have.
Here are the supplies for THREE flowers. I used some packaging to cut the 3 circles for the back. Than I cut 3 pieces of everything. Canvas, burlap, some cheese cloth or gauz, some May Arts trims pieces and some frayed bulap pieces.

Next step I did some cuts in the canvas and frayed it up a bit….tip: roll it in your hands to roughen up the look of the canvas pieces.
I also frayed up the burlap circles a bit.
Poke holes in the canvas and cardboard pieces and use an old brad to layer everything on. There is enough here for 3 flowers…so just use one of each for the flowers. Add in some cut pieces of the cheese cloth for added texture and for the last bit wind some of the burlap strands around the brad. See how the piece on the back give it all some stability.
Now you can use them as is…they are just gorgeous flowers but I have added some Shimmerz Coloringz to two of them to show you how easy it is to create your own colors! Just mist them and dry then with your heat tool.
These yummy flowers are now ready to use on your projects! Have a great week everyone!
